Management sure seems to be biding its time to see what we might be willing to sell.

From our point of view, scope should not be used as a bargaining chip, but can you with a straight face honestly tell me how it won't be? Do you guys really think that The Man (management) is just going to roll over and present us with some sort of gift? I have been peddling my thoughts on this issue for days without even much of a response. "Is this thing on?" OK, one more time. Every single item we ask for is assigned a value by both sides. Each side percieves a different value. These values rarely match and normally become the sticking point in negotiations. OK, back to your regular scheduled programming.

Bar and Alfa: Because I am mentally challenged and haven't had my meds yet, :D please explain to me exactly where you guys disagree. I know its in there somewhere, but I want the Reader's Digest short version so I can smack one of you down. :D Right now, I'm sort of confused. This is my normal state, but with your help, I would like to break free from this encumbrance.

P.S. I like multiple choice. At least I have a chance!

ACL, saw your post on Kyrgyzstan. How does that affect our Military charter business and does it factor into our "European Charter" future?

Waves,

No. I don't believe they will roll over. But, after every thing we have given up over the last 7-8 years, we need to act like they should.

(Isn't that what they did when the company's were in bankruptcy?)

I know plenty of pilots that were former ASA that they did not interview either. Actually most of the furloughed DAL pilots that I know were not ex-ASA.

There was much more at stake than $600M and there was much more to the story than a quid pro quo trade. There is nothing quid pro quo about an 1113c contract rejection. Alfa and Slow have first hand knowledge of what went on, I give them a great deal more credibility in this debate.

If Bar's salient point is that scope should not be traded for bargaining credits, I agree completely.

As was my point. I believe that the phrase of contention was " bargaining credit."

We agree, and that is the way it should be. The past is the past and there is no changing it. Lets all learn from it. Either way scope should not be for sale.

Manas is operating normally so I assume it is business usual. I guess I can call someone.

FWIW, from first had reports their are rioters all over the city. Many ExPats stayed at the embassy last night. The sun is rising over there now.
