I know I will probably get nailed for this but here goes:
You ever notice that we constantly get schooled on how ALPA cannot focus on small little issues that do not effect the whole group and that we need to see the big picture and work on issues that have the potential to impact us all? Well as far as I am concerned, commuting falls in to the ALL category. That IMO is worth fixing and worth ALPA's effort! (Sorry PG :D ) |

Nobody probably wants to complain more about rotations and a categories trips being lost to other planes then those who are playing Second Life in GRU and GIG. :D

Some NWA did

At NWA, we insisted on 5-day trips - lots of 'em. The southern section will come to appreciate them as more guys are forced into commuting.

Just browsing through the last few days of posts and wanted to add a few comments.
Northwest had the Carmen software and has been using it for pattern construction for several years before the merger as well (the company called it "optimizing, and we called it something else:mad:.) So, to blame the changes in pattern construction on Carmen is not really accurate. Like any software, Carmen works based on the inputs it is given by the user. Pre-bankruptcy, we had higher duty and trip rigs, and still had 5 day trips. As a commuter, I am still not a big fan of the 5 day. A 4 day with a decent value is still what I would prefer. The key to an overall QOL for any category is having enough variety of trips in the bid package to give everyone the chance to build the type of schedule that they prefer. |

Anyone flying through ATL notice that the Alaska flight that we DO NOT code share on has been moved from the D Concourse to B33? We are servicing it every day over on B.........

I found the whole AS thing as humorous as time and again that keep stating that this flight is not one of the code share flights we operate with them, and we do nothing to help them with it. Then this start happening.
Just shows you. We may not sell the tickets, but we do almost everything else. I know someone will get on here and tell me that it is only a gate change, etc. That is not the point. |

Sorry acl, but what is the point?
Company and ALPA say AS is not replacing us. That SEA is not a hub and we don't code share on THAT flight. Meanwhile the duck spotters think they have a duck spotted based on it's Anatidae like characteristics. |
Well said Bar.
Yes, we do not "code share" on said flight, but we service the above and below wing on our gate in our hub where we are normally negative on gate space. |
