Besides the issue has never been an airline scoping its own flying. The issue has always been using scope to control another pilot group. In the case of airlines like ASA, it is less of an issue because now ASA operates for two carriers and potentially a third (if the rumors are correct).
It would be hard to say scope at all constrained Republic with their almost 900% growth this decade. As long as "we" continue to write contracts that define the flying we don't do, management will continue to easily step around our scope blockades.
... it would be politically advantageous, create unity and position us on the high ground for bargaining IF we would state on the record "jobs are not for sale." The silence on the subject communicates all anyone needs to know.
The highest threat is not a lawsuit from an aggrieved ALPA member at a F4D carrier. The highest threat is internal (unfortunately).
Scambo, if you so desire. I much prefer the Penguins of Madagascar.
Bar, I heard about that, and the possibility that UAUA may offer more flying to them as well.
This is about our flying and not another group. You know that.
I have hopes that the wave will break in this regard. We have a lot of very good reps though out the system that have their careers to remind them of why scope sales are bad for them if for no other reason.

I do too. But, I'm not sure the political CG has shifted enough to change our trajectory.

Bar,
Classic. I say put it on BBC or Al Jazera. Oh wait, we get the cheapo version. On the cheapest version of Dish Fox is available but CNN et al is not.

Bar, the trajectory can be changed with one vote.
We have well over half of this group that has been significantly effected by this, and another 25% that had to upgrade to keep their same pay. Like I have said, it will take one contract of restoration of pay and QOL issues, and then a commitment to insource said flying as the contracts expire.
Time will tell, but I do not foresee us selling any flying about 76 seats. More 76 seat jets, well I guess that is a possibility as I have heard that we will not give larger jets or more seats, but I have not heard that we would refuse to allow more of these jets. I am thinking that is a non starter too, but I can see them asking for 255 with no 3 for 1. Just a guess at the next request.
