We pulled DFW down to minimal service and American has minimal service in ATL.
Slightly illegal, but it has worked for both airlines for many years now.

Ok, keep telling yourself that. ;)

AMR actually has too much capacity to ATL. Why do you think that 80% of the DFW commuters fly on em?

Seriously, we go way back and the man is awesome. I taught him all I know...or, at least, you can tell him that. He'll chuckle. RF, are his initials.

Did my Captain OE on the 88 with RF a few years ago. He is a good pilot, great guy, and I think he's a real asset as CLCP.

(the B-36.... what an awesome airplane..)

Old joke about the B-36. The crew is getting a checkride and stan/eval says, let's do some engine out work, feather 6. The aircraft commander comes back and says "which 6".

Not talking about the DFW-ATL route. We compete there of course.

But, I do think DAL and AMR had/have an unwritten deal dividing up territory.
They pulled out of their RDU experiment (Midway Airlines, flights to Europe, etc.) and in exchange we pulled down the DFW hub and sort of agreed from then on not to mess with each other's "fortress".

Looks like the leadership shakeup is continuing.

Okay, did we pull down DFW in exchange for AMR pulling down BNA and RDU? Someone said that once, I thought on here or it was with someone I was flying with. A gentlemans handshake, I don't know?

I'm starting to see the airline industry as that bar scene in Three Amigo's full of dirty cowboys who've fled to Mexico and basically everyone has a gun pointed at everyone else, to keep the peace. And then occasionally some clowns show up thinking they've got it all figured out as they sing "my little buttercup, has the sweetest... smile... my little buttercup..." But otherwise, you move, somebody will shoot you and then its just one less gun around.

For better or for worse?

For Better. Great guys taking over Tom's spot. An ATL Asst CP! Memo is in the bottom of our Dalnet page.

Can you be more specific about why this guy is so good? My experiences with T H were not very good in the area of having an open mind about the best of both worlds. It was basically set down, shut up, and do it the DAL way. I hope this individual has a little more flexibility and will at least listen to hundreds of years of experience of flying a particular airplane around with which he has no experience and consider a few things that we are concerned about.:rolleyes:

Keenster;

My dealing with him are always positive. He brings a lot to the table. I cannot answer your questions of how he will lead in that position. I just know that I like him.
