Heyas Guys,

Doesn't this violate our scope big time?

Posted on the NMB website. National Mediation Board finding:

"Chautauqua Airlines (Chautauqua), Shuttle America (Shuttle), Republic Airlines (RA), and Midwest Airlines (Midwest) are operating as a single transportation system known as Republic Airways Holdings, Inc."

In addition:
"Midwest will surrender its [FAA] Operating Certificate to the Department of Transportation and return its IATA designator code of "YX" to that agency. At that point Midwest will cease to exist as an air carrier, as it will have neither operational aircraft nor an operating certificate . . . . Republic will then seek permission to operate RA as RA d/b/a Midwest . . . . Midwest will eventually be dissolved and Republic Airlines will replace the aircraft operations of Midwest using its current assets and operate as Republic Airlines d/b/a Midwest Airlines [MWA]."

Unfortunately, no.

Our scope looks at certificates, not business entities. We've barked up that tree several times...

Yep ... learned that really, SC is a one hour call out by reading this board.

There are multiple short, short, calls every day on the ATL 73N B. I get two or three SC a month.

The answer to that question is NO..and that is what the company has hinted will be the basis for any legal action...let's see if expediency of integration trumps long term efficiency.....

If they gave that to the pilots, they most likely would have had to give it to the FA's. With a FA union, the company would give them nothing except what they negotiate making it easier for us to get stuff. I think it would be great to have them unionized.

no mention of our fnwa grievance that just got shot down about re-capturing a big chunk of $$ from said "me-too" clause
it is a close call as to which is better; non-union vs. union F/A's for us.....
I'm amazed at the lack of knowledge from our current fnwa F/A's on the current standing/decisions/issues...hopefully it will all be resolved soon.

In the truly latest and greatest about Delta,

Has anyone noticed that the 500 foot "checks" call has dissappeared? Sound the horns and slaughter the fat cow! Things really do change for the better!

In other news- I'm only able to enter in 24 choices on my VD list... is anyone else restricted to that? It won't go over to page 3...

Where did you see that it's disappeared? It's still in my Vol I.

IMHO, that's unsat. Unlike our LA based brethren, the 73N Atlanta guys are getting short, short, called almost every day.
I do everything I can to get there asap if they short, short call me. I won't speed, I won't drive fast in snowy weather, and I always stop to check the bulletins and at least throw the Jepp update in my bag and see if there are any updates for my first departure and arrival airport to put in the binder. For me that will take about 2:20 to get to the airplane if the weather is good and I don't run into any traffic. I don't care if the other guy has his stuff updated and has checked the bulletins, if an FAA guy comes on board and checks my pubs and finds I didn't update them, he isn't going to let me go because I was in a hurry to make a short call out.

If they need someone to push in two hours or less they can re-route someone instead of putting us in a position that could have a bad outcome. Even if you live a 30 minute drive from the airport you have to hurry to push two hours from the call. I think the policy should be when they call you they ask how long it will take you to get to the airport. If it is longer than what they need, they should call the next guy. If they don't have anyone that can make it, re-route someone. If they can't re-route someone, delay the flight for however long it takes for a reserve guy to get to the airport without speeding or cutting corners.

I hate to even bring this deal up, but maybe airport reserve shifts could wipe out the short, short calls. If we had shifts that were 5 hours long, paid you 5 hours of credit for sitting there, and people could volunteer to do them, might not be too bad of a deal. I'd grab a couple of them to higher my RAW score up so I would be less likely to get a 4-day trip.

It's gone on the 73N on the April 19 revision.
