According to the unofficial projected category list on the DALPA forum, I'm 58 of 81. That comes to 71.6%. Does the qualifier in the AE system have a rounding error? Is there a margin for error built in?

Specifically, what training is required for me and what CD do I use?

I just completed the MD88/MD90 Recurrent training and the computer wouldn't take my code. I think I need the initial training CD. Everyone who seems to be in the know in ATL is out of the office.

Can anyone here help? Thanks a bunch !

You will need to complete the initial 90 QUAL CD. No OE required for FOs.

This is my best guess. If you were in an 88 only category when you went thru recurrent, it will not take the completion code for 88/90 recurrent. If you are an FO, you will only need to complete the 90 initial training CD and then enter that code. If you're a CAPT, you will do the CD plus have OE on the 90 with LCA. You can do the CD at this point and enter the code when DBMS will take it.

There have been problems with the MSP category and MD-90 completion codes. I was the first F/O to go through CQ as a MSP based MD pilot. Since I was coming from a 90 qualed base (SLC) to a 90 qualed base (MSP) I, of course, did the 90 systems recurrent CD. The computer wouldn't take my code - turns out that they forgot to list MSP as a 90 base in their computer system. It took two personal visits to the fourth floor and more than a week to get it fixed.

Not on a crusade at all. We just have differing opinions on what a widebody is. I sort of look at where the plane flies, schedules available, QOL and pay to make a determination. Never did consider the 75 flying at NWA even close to widebody flying ever, not even close. Just my opinion but I am grateful that the pay rate was bought up to the 7er rate. In looking at the er scheds it seems to do alot of domestic flying and mirror the same flying the 75 does in the bottom half of the scheds(and that's not a bad thing). So I think we can agree to disagree because this is really a meaningless point.:)

If you feel there is an error, call crew planning.

Using unfilled vacancies to meet your percentage requirements means you could bid 50% and end up being dead last when the dust settles. Say hello to my leetle friend.......reserve. Who knows when they will fill those, and when filled it might be with people senior to you. I feel like they are going around the rules and I really didn't get what I bid. I bid the category now, not a year from now when the fill the vacancies.

That's what so great about this job. There's something for everyone. I'm glad we have guys who want to hangout forever and pull gear, then sit around for 12 hours and end up in the same few places every trip. Quicker trip to the left seat and some real money for me.

That Ferd dude could make a latrine in a war zone with a barrel full of warm old beer sound like the overnight to bid for. :D

Salaam my brothers..........I had a Saudi Prince as a student once, I'll bet he can fix us up. ;)

Did said Prince of Persia fly F15s in AZ? If so, I've heard stories from ER guys I've flown with.
