FTB; I love the Falcon. What a nice lookin bird. So I guess there is a conversion schedule for base changes as well as seat changes. Makes sense I guess. |
Even if you are awarded the same seat in a different base, it does not mean that you move the next month. They have the entire conversion window to convert you to that new seat and base even if it is just a different base.
They will not just sick a junior ER guy in to MSP because he is on the NYC ER. When they publish the projected conversions you will see what your planned conversion month is. Yes, it is a dynamic environment right now, but I would not expect to be in your new base next month. It may happen, but it is based on what they publish which is based on their needs and required staffing levels throughout the system. You can be converted as early as Jun and late as Dec. (Even if you do not need to complete training. ) |

I thought base changes took place immediately (i.e. a NYCM88 F/O transferred to MSPM88 F/O would change bases the month following the AE)
So I guess there is a conversion schedule for base changes as well as seat changes. Makes sense I guess. It might show you transferring in Sept, but in July....when the monthly conversion list comes out for AUG it might show you moving a month early (or maybe a month later). Each month a list will come out showing the changes for the next. Usually it seems to be within a month of what they originally posted from what I've seen. |
Conversions are typically done in seniority order. Pilots requiring training may be converted out of order with pilots who do not require training.
Section 22. E. covers this in more detail than is worth posting. If a category is forecast to be undermanned at the end of the AE, they may be slow in pulling pilots out of that category and just back load the conversion cycle. |
Non-Rev Question
Stupid Question : I just listed my bride on a flight Atl/Den and she was placed below " OO " active employees. Who is OO, and do they board with the same priority as active DL...based on doh ?????
Many thanks  |

Thanks, Denny.
One more question, if I call them back or answer the phone to see what they are offering, am I obligated to take the GS or can I say no thanks. thanks again.

If they get a hold of you, you are obligated. From the contract:
10. A pilot will be obligated to fly a GS or GSWC rotation if he is notified of and acknowledges the award. If you have a GS in and do not want to fly, either take it out or monitor your calls. Denny Yeah, I personally screen & listen to the voicemail. Then I check the rotation in icrew & if I want it I'll call back. That being said, if they really need you they will help you get there. |
Non-Rev pt 2
OK, I see OO is Skywest.........do they really have the same boarding priority as Delta ?
Hey Bar, is this another unintended consequence of outsourcing ? I'm a little late to this rodeo, so be gentle with my uninformed self. Thanks |
FedElta,
Skywest is a lower priority than mainline, I think S3C, but they show up on the standby list in longevity order with us. Your spouse should board before them. |
Quick question, If I got a position awarded on this AE and I have not been trained when the next one comes out, do I have to rebid?
|
So I hear Bono of U2 is injured throwing the Tour schedule to shambles. Wonder inf that will change anything with the 319 charters.
