I guess if the 765 moves up to NYC, they'll have the same problem (well, mostly since I imagine a lot of ATL guys will commute to NYC for the $$$, leaving a lot of potential instructors in ATL)

Not really since most, if not all, of the 765 SLIs also instruct on the classic.

If this guy is an FFDO, I hope the feds go after the local gendarmes for mishandling this and also the press for releasing a photo of him. Definitely not cricket.

How else is the Urinal-Constipation going to sell papers? Big, bad Delta pilots are a wet dream for those hacks and unfortunatley this guy is guilty until proven innocent. So can you tell I don't care for the local paper??

On a selfish note, if he is guilty it does me no good as he is junior to me. I kid, I kid.

Heyas Buzz,

They can ask all they want. fNW pilots, even the ones in MSP, weren't ever chomping at the bit to "kiss the rings" of the anointed in the training department.

When they were paying a month's hotel AND per diem AND positive space to MSP, you don't think that the company wanted to hire locals? Fact is most guys want to fly their trips and go home, and the majority of the IPs at NATCO commuted in one fashon or another because they could never find enough people willing to do it. Now you're telling me that people will just line up to do it when they have to pay their own way? No way.

If guys are willing to do this, what's that say about the pilot group willing to lower their own compensation?

Training is a cost of doing business.

Tsk, tsk...

Nu

Fishwrap. Almost as bad as it was in CVG. Guess we'll see how they like having no hub in their city now. But wait... Southwest is supposed to swoop in and save everyone!!! (sound of crickets)

They still have seasonal steamboat service to Louisville! I wonder if LUV would consider a code share with that to feed SDF?:D

Nosmo,

I get your points. I've been an instructor. I understand the value of the line guys doing it and have never really bought in to the DGS system.

If you pay for guys to fly into MSP to instruct, then all hell is going to break loose in ATL.

Ask around discretely up North. Hearing they are already doing this (or were) for some 744 and 330 SLI's - because - slow drum roll - they are not finding enough local talent and the instructors won't do it otherwise

You'll have guys, like me, who will want to instruct and commute in from LAX on the 73N. That's a can of worms I can't imagine RA opening.

See above.

In fact, I'm 100% confident he won't. What will happen is that they'll ask guys who live in MSP on the various equipment there to do the instruction. Holy cow Batman , insert concession, relief here _______ Please, never, never run for any ALPA position

C'mon FTB. Where's the reminder? :D

I have an agenda, and that's to protect you guys from making the biggest mistake you can make- ATL 88 B.
