Should it surprise you that I still keep a long book and update it monthly.
. I flew with a guy a long time ago who logged EVERY detail. One of his goals was to fly every MD-88 that Delta owned. He was still chasing after 2 or 3 tail numbers last I heard. Then he was going to upgrade and start the same quest on the 767 fleet. |
Motion to cancel displacements
Bucking Bar, 76.. I mean .. 73 .. um .. 88 or DC9 First Officer, member in good standing moves to cancel the displacements, save a ton of training cycles and make our airline more productive.
Do we have a second? |

Yep they turned on the hose two months early this year. Lots o stuff about ready to break.
On your question. We do not shift vacation here in Deltaland. Ouch, oh well guess I'll just have to bid creatively. Thanks As for the flying, I don't want to complain, figure better job security. It was nice basically having the summer off, but I was definitely getting nervous about hearing the F word. |

I don't like complaining but... This reserve system is mystifying.
Thinning the operation and rerouting stuff due to the blizzard. Plus -- the annual Super Bowl flu season is upon us this weekend. |

Any idea when it's going to be published? Minor or major changes?

When they finally figure out how the heck they are going to deal with an airline that needs bodies but does not want to hire until the mid summer at the earliest.
Narrowbody is huge for the summer, err, International is coming back, we need to go after that market. Well what about the bid, err what bid, err the one that sent 1000 pilot to small jets, well, err we need them there, err well how do you want us to staff the big jets, err, hold on let me go get a few drinks..... Mines just a short course, so far..... Just kidding of course, but they are trying to figure out how to make this whole bid work with the summer mess that is ramping up.. |

I dont know how big the change will be, all i know is that she said that adjustments are being made all the time. I'm getting pushed back a month and its still subject to change again....
I think thats the kicker. They need people flying and cant afford to have everyone in training and thus the hose is bulging. They're in a predicament because they need bodies in the new positions but cant afford to move them from their current position. Thats going to cause problems at some point. |

Rather than use a 4 day bucket person on a three day trip, with a yellow slip in btw, they give it to a short call person outside his window. 0900 sc on the 5th and a trip sign in at 1520 on the 6th. They must have truncated their sc at 0300 in order to give them that trip. Why not send me on it? waaa waaa waaa!
Had to take my yellow slip out quickly to avoid the GEO trip. Bet I get it anyway... |

Flying your a-- off. We are not going to furlough unless the economy locks up. Possible, but not the way they are seeing it right now. |

Do we have a second? Let the record show that the motion has been seconded by ALC65 a member in "good" standing, and a all around nice guy! :D |
