NewK's grandfather used to fly the mail from New York to Cheyenne. NewK flies similar routes using the same techniques. A stick of Beeman's, a thorough walk-around, and a sexy talk with the aircraft. When its really bad, and he's flying from MSP to SLC, he has to get out there with a hammer and knock the severe stuff off. Still, he has time to get back in the seat, suck on a nice Cubano, comfort the passengers, and make plans with the sexy one in the back. Be thirsty my friends.

haha! buzz wins for tonight.

One more week of 73N training before the Clamp show returns... Passed my MV today and now 2 days off. I'll actually be up a bit tonight.

And... at the risk of overdoing the newK stuff- Your payrate is whatever he says you should be paid.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not seeing anything on my paycheck in minutes. Only earnings and deductions. I've looked at the Time Card and Pay Statement. Pretty much everything on Icrew and don't see a payrate anywhere. I'm looking for something that shows my hourly rate without crunching any numbers. Maybe there isn't one.

Thanks again.

The DC9 is now a small fleet - I imagine those guys would hold on until bumped, then they would displace into whatever they could hold (actually not a bad deal).

When I was hired only two years ago, we had people in my class go to the M88, 73N, and 7ER. All bases except ATL also.

Yeah, all true. I guess it's just hard to believe until I see the hard numbers on paper. :o

I've heard rumors that we are going to hire 300 this year. To me that means in 2010. We're not even going to start interviewing until August. First class will probably happen in late September or October. Does that mean we're going to hire 100/month for 3 months? It seems like the classes are going to be pretty big. Maybe 50/class? Is this to bring in more off the street pilots than flow pilots?

Well remember it's not a rumor. It's fact. And it is for 2010. I'm not sure about your last question, though it could be a way to minimize flows.

At the risk of starting the union bargaining argument again, I say we all should get paid more. A lot more.

Congrats, 80! :)

I'm taking my daughter to a game tomorrow, so I hate that I'm gonna miss the show. If you creative ones come up with any good ones, let me know.

My favorite is still:

"When is ATC gonna learn? You don't tell a DC-9 to go directly to a fix, you tell the fix to go to the DC-9."

Classic! Whoever came up with that (80 or ftb) should know, I mutter that every time ATC tries to send us to a fix. (And give you both credit for it, because I can't remember who said it.) :D

Goodnight.

New K

As buzz stated... the sim today knew better than to tempt one of newK's minions. I've gotta say... the 73N sims we have feel more like an airplane than any full flight sim I've ever flown.

I'm going to have to eat my words on the 73N..... I really am enjoying the airplane. Big old school throw switches and old school logic combined with state of the art avionics. I finished my left seat qual with the HGS today- I want a HUD on my side!

There was some beastly looking guy wearing a viking hat beating at the hydraulic legs as I was walking into the briefing room. new?

I cannot take credit for that quote- nor can ftb or anyone on this site. All things good in any language come from the worldwide coalition of bad@$$ airplanes.

Just pulled up mine..can't find the rate now either.

I'll go hunting, or some of the better educated guys can help me find where it's posted.....
