Thoughts?

Well Johnso........here is the pertinant section of the contract (I think):

11. A reserve pilot who flies on an X-day due to an IA, GS or reroute will be given nine hours free of duty upon his release at the completion of his rotation.
a. His X-day(s) will begin immediately following such nine-hour period and will continue until he has received a period of 24 hours free of duty for each interrupted and remaining X-day in his scheduled X-day block.
b. If the remaining days in the bid period are insufficient to contain the X-day(s), the pilot will be granted an additional day(s) off under
Section 23 S. 16.

In my laymans opinion, I think you are right. This is section 23.S.11

That makes sense. Now I know how they got the end of the partial PB day.

Thanks Denny :)

I should clarify my above post and say your x days should start 9 hours after you get back and you should be given two days back if the GS touched two days.

Well the last 2 days were on reserve days. I had a block of 3 days of reserve. The last 2 days of the GS 4 day were on the first 2 reserve days. So they paid back a full day on my last reserve day, and gave me a partial PB day on the 1st day of my next block of reserve days.

Clear as mud? :p

For you fans of what a IAH approach controller called the super duper hoover, "keep your speed up or you'll get sucked up":

I don't know if you care but, after reading that section, I get the impression that they cannot split the payback days and add a partial off day to your next group. That's the beauty of "rolling thunder" when it happens. Reading that contract section, IMO, they can only only give you supplemental days off if, at the end of the month, there are not enough days in the month to give you payback days.

Of course the above is just my opinion. :) And if you are happy with the way it is........enough said.

Denny-
They have to split the payback days if they run into another group of X days.
Sounds like that was the case here.
I think crew skeds did it correctly.

This GS touched 2 X days. That entitled him to 48 hours of payback.
Following the 9 hours of rest, if there was only 36 hours until his next group of scheduled X days, then the remaining 12 hours of payback should be tacked onto the end of that group of X days. (thus the "partial" payback day phenomenon)
