The Yankees have chosen 7 with 20 alternates. So no more senior mommas with suitecases to take home the left overs and NO size 28 red dresses! The Mets have requested ATL FAs only.... ???

They are paying a premium for those flights. If they can get away with it, more power to them.

I see someone looking to sue for discrimination if they don't get it....

Maybe, not for me to worry about.

I am sure there is something to be said for the tastes and preferences of a consumer who is shelling out upwards of 25K an hr for a jet.

I once sat next to the VP for IFS for a foreign airline. I asked him how they got such hot looking and polite FAs. His response had nothing to do with discrimination. He said they were hired on a one year contract and the contract simply wasn't renewed if the FA had a substandard grade.

They were graded on a number of things, but positive customer feedback was one of them.

On an interesting side note, on a recent layover, the FAs who had just come back from recurrent were convinced the company was trying to force them out because the recurrent wasn't so much about instruction but about evaluation. Maybe we're learning.

NWA has been doing this for years - regular FAs don't usually staff the charters. It's a special group of FAs, from what I understand.

One can hope, but the simple fact is that FA's see more black helicopters than we do!

Hope you all checked the code-a-phone for the 12th. Not a lot of info, but pretty positive news in my opinion...

Excerpts I like:
......Financially, we are staying focused on de-leveraging our balance sheet – which translates into reducing our debt – and building more equity. Based on everything we know now, 2010 will be profitable – and with that will come profit sharing. We are incredibly well positioned as we move into 2010 with the revenue picture looking even brighter.
(*I'll believe it when I see in my bank account it but its nice to even be considering it.)

........During the recent base visits, the topic of Airway Manual “growth” has been discussed. In response to this issue, beginning in March, Flight Operations will initiate a test program of the Jeppesen Airside Service at the Atlanta Training Center. This test program will be followed by a phased line operations implementation starting with a test fleet in the summer. The Airside service is a distribution method which places Jepp ship sets on the flight deck and in each training device. The Airway Manual, along with other documents will be included in the Airside kit and will be maintained on board the flight deck and in the training device. Once implemented, pilots will no longer be required to carry their flight bags.........
(Whoo-hoo...Finally!!!.....But again, Ill believe it when I get the iCrew notification that I am free to leave the brain bag at home!!)

Where's Joe Patroni when you need him?

Anyone else noticed how drunk and bloodshot Dean Martin looked in that movie?

On these two items;

Projected 350 million in profit for 2010. Loss for Q1 then in the black. Planning on 100 million in profit sharing.

They are going to do the sims, then the DC-9 and 330 for ship sets. If it works whole system by next year. (all books but that is a moving target)
