Denny,
Two unrelated academic questions: I know you only get 1 APD per year regardless of if you drop 1 day of reserve or a regularly scheduled pairing. I know the APD can go to four reserve days maximum, but is there a limit to a regularly scheduled trip. For example, can you drop a whole 12 day international trip with your APD? Also, say the G/S trigger is 75 hours but you only have 70 hours and then fly a 10 hour G/S. Do you get G/S pay for the whole 10 hours or just the portion over 75, which I suspect is the correct answer? Thanks - Scoop As far as the GS example, 5 hours would go to cover the difference between 70 and 75 hours at regular pay and 5 hours would be GS pay. There is a way around this predicament if you do not want to fly a trip at straight pay. You can use your bank to fill up the 5 hours of straight pay and then get the GS pay for the 10 hours of the GS. If I remember right, you can go up to a -30 hours and a +60 hours in your full service bank. Denny |
You can go to minus 30 hours in the full service bank.
Also, you can not take out more than 5 hrs in a month you get a green slip. |
[quote=dalad;815369 He did my IOE onthe73N back in 2000. His college roomate was GWB. As in DUBYA. he also was a NONMEMBER, I repeat a NONMEMBER!!!!!!! I don't care how nice he is, but he is a *******!!!![/quote]
He's not a *******. He's a good man. He'll do a great job. When I was having some problems coming off furlough and 5+ years of not flying and into the 73N, he was outstanding. Sounds like you've got a beef with our former president. That has nothing to do with the quality of the pilot hiring office at Delta. Plus, his status as a member or non-member of our union really shouldn't matter either, or be a point of public knowledge. |

I have no beef with GWB, but a former pilot who was a non member is a BIG non starter for me. PR was a nice guy but a non member nonetheless. Would you want a **** hiring pilots? |

Denny Denny, I've always just run my credit up to 75 as soon as I can in case I get a GS. What if you don't, then you get a GS? Can you then pull the time out of the bank and get the GS pay for the entire trip or do you have to pull the time out and have 75 hours before you get the GS? |

This is about the only thing I use the bank for. Always try to have 10 hours in that bank so you can come up to 75 hours so you will get GS pay for an entire trip.

Can you then pull the time out of the bank and get the GS pay for the entire trip or do you have to pull the time out and have 75 hours before you get the GS? The following is if you are a regular line holder. You can pull a maximum of 5 hours out of the bank in a month that you have a greenslip to bring yourself up to the greenslip trigger. The greenslip trigger time is listed on your timecard. If you are more than 5 hours away from the trigger then you either need to whiteslip or use part of your GS hours at straight pay to get to the GS trigger. Here is the pertinant contract language for the 5 hours: 4. A pilot may withdraw or borrow from his bank account for the following purposes: a. to receive additional credit for pay purposes (up to the lesser of the ALV plus five hours or 82 hours) for the current bid period. Exception: A pilot may not withdraw more than five hours from his bank in a bid period in which the pilot is awarded a GS. So, in a month without a GS, you can withdraw up to 20 hours but in a month with a GS you can only withdraw a maximum of 5 hours. Hope this helps. Denny |
RockyBoy,
Not sure if I totally answered your question so here is a little more. Do not wait to put a GS in until you have 75 hours or the GS trigger. If you can get a GS at any time during the month.......do so and worry about reaching the trigger later on in the month. If you cannot then think about using the 5 hours from the bank. I believe (pretty sure but not 100% positive) you can do the bank request up to the last day of the month. I wouldn't leave it that long because I would forget about it and it would cost me big time!!:) Denny |
