I'm pretty sure why Greg is retiring early. I heard that Steve is returning to line flying.
My money says that JD (A330) will be "consolidated" back to the line next and the 320 manager will takeover as combined 320/330. If I could choose who to keep between the 320 and 330 managers, it would be the 330 guy (who used to run the 320 program). I have heard the current 320 guy is more politician than anything else... |
Oh quit being such a redtail whiner. What is wrong with a little ethnic cleansing? Did anyone really expect those token positions given to remain? Next up, M88 or 73N chief pilot to takeover A320 program.

It's just more of "Operation Visine". Getting the red out.
The larger question is why Steve and now Greg are retiring early? They loved their jobs and were absolutely great at doing them. Carl |

Well if you look at the latest Category list we have a DC9A SLI with a 11761 (2007 hire) seniority number so he/she never could have held Captain on anything. Explain that.
In other fleets the junior A SLI's could have conceivably flown Captain on something else. |

If I need to change an out time, I'll do it later. Am I supposed to be afraid to make a decision? Getting an airplane from point A to point B should not have to be a legal exercise and a "Got cha, your fired!" game. We have got enough to worry about. Is this is how DAL is? Or, is this just a made up scenario? Superman wears NewK underwear. |

Also don't forget that snowplow will more than likely block your car with 10 feet of snow. So make sure you bring a commercial grade shovel to work as well. And wear shoes with good thread, cuz nobody wants to OJI like that, right?;)
First snow is only a few months away, so it's never too late to be prepared. |

In other fleets the junior A SLI's could have conceivably flown Captain on something else. 1) Captain (on the aircraft type in which he is an SLI) will fly as Captain or First 33 Officer at the base of his choice. 34 2) First Officer, but not Captain (on the aircraft type in which he is an SLI) will fly 35 as First Officer at the base of his choice. 36 An SLI will not train Captains or First Officers unless he has a minimum of 1000 hours 16 of FAR 121 PIC or SIC experience, of which 750 hours is PIC or SIC experience at the 17 Company. 18 Exception: The above requirements will not apply to a pilot who was an SLI on June 21, 19 2001 or a former NWA pilot who was considered a qualified NWA Seniority List 20 Instructor (SLI) on the day prior to October 30, 2008. |

Carl We're all one book now. I have no idea about the particular individual in question, he's probably a great guy and retired for personal reasons, not political, but: Going forward, anybody who exhibits a "partisan" mindset is probably not going to be chosen for supervisory positions. That goes for red/green partisans or north/south partisans. We've merged. All those old arguments are now historical relics. Its pointless to continue the sectarian bickering. |
Could it be that those Yankees didn't like living in Dixie or didn't want to move their families there?

I suspect they would like to get all the "colors" out.
