Like New said, the fNWA were required to have 10 days of log pages on board, but you did not have to read all of them, you could check them for the history. If the MEL (MCO) has been cleared there is no reason to check them.

This sounds like normal ops. I guess I must have read more into the post than was there. Not hard for me to do!:)

Denny,

My few, aging memory cells are used for other things. Like why I already forgot the leads name, when she or he just told it to me 3 minutes ago. :) Plus, you have to remember we had and still have two logbooks (Aircraft and Flight Attendant). It's enough trouble to just check for 10 days of history on both of those. The South birds only have one, right?

Whaaat! It takes you 3 minutes?! You're ahead of the the game!!:) Yes the South birds only have one logbook.

Check your PMs

Any fdal guys having trouble getting the WDR preface/pax count before departure?

We need only the WDR/preface, the FOM no longer requires a pax count like it did in the past... (FOM 5.6.1)

Note: It is permissible to relinquish the FDRA and close the cabin door prior to receiving the WDR uplink; however, crews must be in possession of the
WDR and Preface prior to pushback. When the departure gate is staffed by more than one gate agent, the final onboard passenger count may not be
known by the agent collecting the FDRA.

I wonder if this works, it looks cheap and easy to install. Wintips for the 88? 9? everyone?

The whole D-0 emphasis and the charging for checked baggage (forcing everyone to try to carry-on as much as possible) seem to be in direct conflict.

We better get this figured out pretty quick or we are going to have some pretty poor numbers this summer.

Scoop

But did you block in at A+14? This is the big tracked/published number by the DOT. The D+0 is only important to the stations internally for ranking and MANAGER'S/SUPERVISOR'S BONUSES.

It takes me 3 minutes to REALIZE I have forgotten their name. I'm sure I forget it right away. :D

Scoop

That's what I meant to say, there are really two level off calls on the 88:

"100' above/below and still climbing/descending" and "oh #### what altitude we're we assigned?!?"

We watched this video done by a USAFA Behavioral Sciences professor who did a study with major air line crews. He put them in the sim and had them fly an ILS. About halfway down the Captain would feign death and about 50% of the time the F/O would let the airplane crash. This was mid 80s time frame, about the time of the KAL 747 crash I think.

500' checks are not so intrusive and not a bad idea.

Pretty sure the 500' "checks" call was for incapacitation and for stablized approach.

In reading the Rolling Stone article about Gen McChrystal I noticed that he likes to drink Bud Lite Lime. As a reminder to us all, "don't fruit the beer!"

Scoop

According to the LGA gate agents they are going to start charging for carry on bags that do not fit in to the Size Wise units.
