I don' think it is flame baiting at all. It is a huge issue at our airline that needs to be addressed. How many of us have pointed the finger at other airlines? Most of us have. We should be looking in the mirror.

I thought as a J/S you are "part of the crew" and therefore do not have to go back trhough security.

Apparently, in the eyes of the TSA, you are only part of the crew if you are actually working the flight, and/or are on an official company business ticket. Anything else, you are a passenger and must be screened.

Carl,

At this point, I think that if you did say something positive about Delta, they would just think you were being sarcastic. :D

With a new hire class starting tomorrow (although I assume they are mostly recalls) will there be an AE soon?

The bulletin is BS. I can understand if they want to prevent guys from abusing the SIDA doors, but to make someone who ALREADY cleared security and hasn't left the sterile area exit and RECLEAR security is a waste of time and resources. This will further inconvience passengers, and is another example of the failure that is TSA.

The thing that gets me is why doesn't someone like SD fight this stuff?

There's got to be a point where you go "No...we're not doing that. That is ridiculous and completely unnecessary. Do your job and screen the people that need to be screened."

PilotFrog 08-01-2010 08:34 AM

Plus this doesn't really do anything. I assume this is to try and get people to get thier bags rescanned, but what prevents them from leaving items in ops or other areas, clearing security and reclaiming said items. REALLY does not make sense.

Why doesn't our union fight this stuff? Why aren't they creating some nifty YouTube video to show the public how stupid some of this stuff is?
