Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
I highly doubt that DAL is going to "in house" transpo. The logistics involved with the world's largest airline doing their own shuttle service would probably outweigh the logistics involved with the hundreds of airplanes and tens of thousands of aircrew we have operating all around the globe. In fact, I know the owners of the service in MCO. They have a recently renewed contract with DAL.
Those van companies make a killing so maybe there are cost savings that would make it worth the hassle. A few years back JetBlue was paying something like $700,000 for shuttle service in MCO. A local JetBlue checkairman did the math and showed the company they could buy three shuttles, hire the drivers, pay all the insurance and other costs involved, and do it for $300,000. They didn't want to save $400,000 back then so the guy did it himself and got the bid to do it for $500,000 saving JetBlue $200,000 and putting $200,000 per year in his pocket.
If it really costs that much money for the limo services then it might be worth the cost to have a limo operation in house.
Trust me it is worth the cost. Heck we will probably have a ramper doing the driving.
It costs a ton of money for these guys.

I didn't see this posted, so I though I'd mention it.
The arbitrator ruled in the "Alleged Replacement of 747 Aircraft by 777 Aircraft" grievance/claim. He denied the North pilot's claim.
I found the 13 page decision on the DALPA website.

Do we tip the driver if they are a Delta employee?? Maybe I'll save $6 per trip with company limo service!!
There are a lot of grievances out there that are pending.
The update from C 20 had a bunch of them listed as well.

Probably make more than a ramper if they get the gig in some of the busy cities like ATL. Do two runs per hour downtown during a 12 hour shift and that is 48 legs per day. Say you only have 40 with people because a few are empty runs. You probably have an average of three per run so that would be 120 people. Captains tip a couple bucks, FO's and FA's a buck. So in addition to the $10/hr that guy/gal will make about $180 in tips. That is $300 per day 5 days per week. So they will make about about $6000 per month or $72,000 per year with more than half of that in cash. I didn't make that much until I was on 3rd year pay.

I say yes, because if the transportation went internal those tips are the only thing that would make them bust their hump to get us to the hotel. (No more contracts to worry about getting canceled if the service is sub par)
Thanks for the ride. It was awesome and very funny, and I think we can bank on your Captain joining us very soon. I think I might start wearing that helmet around so we don't need the secret stickers..
Speaking of transportation, not sure if I mentioned it or not but the other day we got to ride in a nice stretch limo from the DFW hotel to the airport. It was great. Till the driver balked at our tips and demanded to know how we were paying for his limo and it spiraled downhill fast from there.
Now, needless to say, its not a simple we jumped into the wrong car. Limo driver lied to the Captain. I don't want to divulge any more information but do this, if its not the same vehicle that picked you up the night before (and I know golden touch can be a multitude of vehcile types and not all with the big golden touch wrap), call. Telling you anything else would be putting on the internet the kind of stuff the company RIGHTFULLY doesn't want on the internet.
