Wanting to know what to pack. :-)

I saw a few with jackets on last week. I'd say it's still about 95% are shirts only. But, it is getting a little nippy in the morning and at night. I might be jacketed down next week, too. :)

Would that be a guy at ASA, goes by Paul M? I can't tell you how many times I wanted to either brain him or myself with the crash axe.

He was at the other ASA....Skywest. Nice guy but he kinda freaked out after a window blew out in a Metroliner. His body was partially outta the airplane flapping in the breeze. Luckily he had a seatbelt on and his FO pulled him back in.:eek:

The Flying Fox

There's an old tale at DAL about the guy who used a hand puppet named "Freddie the Fox" as a spokesman. For example: "Freddie the Fox says it's time to start your descent." Well, one day Freddie mysteriously disappeared from his den in the flight kit. Pictures of him being run over, hung, stabbed, etc. showed up on the crewroom bulletin board. His owner was so distraught that the CP ordered the foxnappers to return Freddie, with the proviso that Freddie never fly again. :p

Some guys won't wear it until the FOM requires it, but once September hits I'm usually wearing mine. I'm DTW based too. It's handy for rain, & it's been cool in DTW off and on now. I also dont loke wearing a hat with out a blazer. But hey, that's just my preference.

Just do what I do, bid a HNL layover on every rotation. Problem solved. :D

Totally depressing, 29 guys over 60 stick around and only 4 guys retired in Sep. Bummer:mad:

And what's even worse about that statistic, is that 2 of the 4 retirees were age 65 mandatory retirements!

What is good about that statistic is we have pilots that are 65 (which I actually dont think we do for another 1.5 years).

What happened to the ALPA projection that guys would be bailing at 62.5. That was supposed to be the magic number not 65.:(

scambo, those two age 65 retirees were NWA S/Os at the time the FAA age changed, thus they were still on the list. There are another 27 guys who will age 65 retire prior to the first of the "real" age 65 guys retiring beginning on 12/13/2012.
