Delta, Boeing revise 787 purchase deal
October 25, 2010
Delta and The Boeing Co. have finalized an agreement regarding Delta’s purchase of 18 Boeing 787-8 aircraft, originally ordered by Northwest Airlines.
Under the agreement, disclosed Monday in a quarterly financial filing, Delta remains a 787 customer, and will begin accepting the aircraft at a rate of six per year starting in 2020.
Under the original order, Delta was going to start taking the aircraft in 2008. Boeing was unable to meet the original delivery date, which is why the agreement was re-negotiated.

Right ... I'm sure there are plenty of guys sticking around to fly the 787 ... right.
Surprised to see that they haven't changed them to the 787-9s. Also, no mention of any compensation for late deliveries. I saw something a while back about a monetary settlement, but no numbers. Has anyone actually seen or read the details of the settlement?

The 787 is a big pile of poo, plus it's not big enough.
CHICAGO (WBBM/CBS) – A combination of strong thunderstorms, followed by violent and destructive winds, will make for one of the most dangerous storms in 70 years.
The temperature Monday is expected to climb to 77 degrees under partly sunny skies. But when Tuesday morning comes around, the Chicago area will be slammed with furious thunderstorms as a cold front passes over the area.

Hey T, & Jughead,
Seems like I've hit a touchy subject with the A's on the board. I remember the safety guy who briefed my indoc class. He told us that 90% of DAL taxiway and runway incursions happened when the f/o was " heads down."
I'll never be a captain at DAL, but I tend to remember statistics like those. I should have qualified my post with IMHO.
Just sayin"

Lets be more specific. The 787-800 is a pile of poo. The 787-900 will be the airplane we want.
Check, you beat me to it. It was part of the 10K.
Don't all things happen in threes?
