Columbia,

Great post. Makes me think we need a union.

Cheers

When they say the new congress would be friendly to Delta, they don't mean you and I... I'd be curious to see where the FT/DT NPRM goes from here. May be rather ugly.

NMB needs to release the results.

I'm guessing 10% pmNWA doesn't vote, because they don't like AFA but can't bring themselves to vote for it, and of the 90% that vote, 10% again actually take the stand of voting against it. Assuming there's 9,000, that means 6,300 vote, and 5,670 for.

Assuming 13,000 pmDAL, assuming 15% don't vote, and assuming they loose about 1/3 of the 5,000 that previously voted for AFA, you get 3,335 "for", and 11,050 votes total.

That makes my guess 9,635 "for" out of 17,350 votes, or 55%.

Deltaafa.org is saying that the NO vote won:

OUR Delta AFA

AFA Will Challenge Delta Flight Attendants Vote

Today the historic representation election for Delta Air Lines flight attendants ended. The National Mediation board announced that the majority of votes cast were for "no representative." AFA will file a series of objections following the vote count, including serious charges of interference against Delta Air Lines.

When the NMB rules on these objections, we will update you. Meanwhile, Delta AFA would like to thank our many supporters and campaign activists, whose ambition has been critical to our dream of delivering representation to Delta flight attendants, despite today’s disappointing results. Your sacrifices deserve our deepest gratitude.

Although this election was an emotional journey for some and at times divisive, we are all on the same team. We are the faces of Delta in the air. We provide safety and comfort to our customers, no matter how we voted. We will protect each other and define the flight attendant role at Delta, working to make our airline a global leader in service and safety.

Take AFA's commitment to unity and professionalism with you wherever you fly, and make steps today toward reconciliation within our Delta family of flight attendants.
