Whoops
Alabama PA announcer fired for songs aimed at Cam Newton - NCAA Football - SI.com
'Bama employee fired over songs
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) -- The University of Alabama has fired an employee who played songs aimed at Auburn quarterback Cam Newton before the Iron Bowl.
University spokeswoman Debbie Lane said Monday that the part-time staffer was fired for the unauthorized songs. Take the Money and Run and Son of a Preacher Man were played while Newton and the Tigers warmed up. The NCAA has been investigating allegations that Newton's father, a pastor, solicited $180,000 from Mississippi State during recruiting.
Lane said in a statement that all music and videos played in the stadium before and during games have to be approved by a senior athletic administrator. She said the staffer -- who was not named -- didn't get those songs cleared.

Had a DCI pilot on a positive space the other day on a oversold flight. Asked if he would give up his seat to help other non revs get on(no other jumpseaters). Once airborne we got to talking and he was going out to cover Ual express flying. Are they allowed to use pos. space, bump Dal revenue and non revs for another airlines flying? If not, who do I contact? If so, this is BS.
SkyWest has been known to do this on a regular basis. They were using positive space to bring UAX guys to SLC on mainline DAL flights for training a few years ago. If they are being used for non Delta flying or training then they need to have a purchased ticket just like a mainline UAL pilot would have. If they don't and they are bumping revenue then you should tell the agent to deny them boarding and call the CPSC. We left more than a few behind in ORD when they were doing this a few years ago.
There are about 20 guys that were suppose to be in SLC on the 320 for December that are benched. They were told they will try to find them a slot in January but it may be into Febuary before they get them in. Two months off over the holidays and getting paid the ALV is a sweet deal!

Want a chuckle? Check out reserve coverage for DTW 320B in December.
Me: Hello?
Scheduler: I have a trip for you, advise ready to copy
Me: Uhhh.....I think there's some mistake, I'm off today.
Scheduler: we are in inverse assignment for MEM and you are being junior assigned.
Me: uhhh......uhhhhhh.......hmmmmm......uhhhhh
Scheduler: (interupting my Uhhhh's) it is a two day trip, rotation XXXX, reports ASAP, returns back to MEM tomorrow evening at 1625. I'll show you notified. How quickly will you be able to report?
Me: uhhhhh......uhhhhhh?! Is this a DC-9 trip? I didn't know we went to MCI direct from MEM.
Scheduler: Yes, I need to know how long until you are at the gate? (emphatically, obviously annoyed at my confusion)
Me: well, uhhhh....There are a couple of issues at play here, 1st of all, I am out sick since I just had back surgery last week. And second of all....I'm not on the DC-9 anymore.....I'm on the Airbus.
Scheduler: Uhhhhhhh........Uhhhhhhhh. Oh, I see that now. Not sure how this happened. Uhhhhhhh......Ok, have a nice night.

Got a frantic call from scheduling last night at 1830. When my wife brought me the phone the following conversation ensued:

The ability to bank 60 hours and save them for later has not changed at all. What changed is the way we bid, PBS, and the way we get paid for the month. With line of time bidding and the moveup process (known and blind) to both regular and reserve lines, you could easily get in the 85 to 95 hour credit range for a month. Then with a hard cap on hours you could get paid for the month, say 75, the only thing you could do was put these extra hours in the bank.
AAAHHHHH the good ole days!!!!!!
