Carl, your right. The Hawaiian pilots proved it worked for them. None of us have a time machine to go back and try it out here. No one knows what would've happened if we voted it down. Saying that we would have succeeded is a stretch. I do agree that our group needs to grow a pair though. We are like Austin Powers without his MoJo!

It's gonna take coach Dooley (one of 2 UT coaches whose name adorns departures from ATL ) a couple of years to get some good players. Remember the name Tyler Bray though.. he's gonna get a lot of love in the coming 3 years... well.. 2 anyway. I think I agree with you about USC East. Old ball coach has a good group right now and they have shed the November slump. Gonna be good against next year too. Hey I can pull for ABF baby..
Of course, if asked last year I'd said Alabama would win the west in 2010 and Florida the east. Shows what can happen. There is something to be said to picking up juco players. Tubberville got Rudi Johnson that way to get his tenure jump started, a little pump primer?
My guess right now is Alabama probably wins the west in 2011 as their players get more experience but ARK's backup QB is darn good. Auburn will lose way too many seniors and Fairley and Newton, that AUB-SCAR game in CAE might be ugly. LSU... who the hell knows? UGA and UF are big question marks. If a 2011 SEC team makes it to the BCS again I'd be surprised.
But who knows.
I'd say 2011 UT is competitive for the east, very competitive in 2012, I agree.

What's the over/under on how long it takes Fairley to go to prison after his college career? That kid's nothing but a thug.
Yikes...........going through the LAX ER bid package. Only one Saipan layover and it conflicts with my carryout trip, and not that many NRT trips total. It's all good, I was going to be a domestic guy in Jan anyway but what is really amazing is the number of trips that go in and out of ATL and operate out east, ie don't see LAX again till the last day of the trip.
For the old heads, do they rotate things between bases? For example, I'm OK with Sink going out to Asia some months if I get to go to Russia. But, the only Europe we have is CDG........no AMS even.
Confused, but that's normal.......

Haneda slots awarded, LHR slots awarded, MD90's coming on line, 767's scheduled for disposal coming back to the line, hiring new pilots & flight attendants, just to name a few things that have happened in the last year.
Ferd;
The China and Russia flights are base dependent because of the visa requirements. Other than that, they do switch it up a lot.
I was looking though the ATL 7ER bid package and there are a few Asia trips. A couple 11 and 23 days too. Heck there was a 13 day Paris PHL trip too. Lots of 757 time there.
They do mix it up though.

I guess mixing it up makes some since. I remember being a DC-9 Bubba in MEM and going up and doing MSP or DTW type patterns in the winter and giving those guys a little sunshine break down south.
I was hoping for an ROR (Palau) but looks like those went to those Pacific trailblazers in MSP The LAX Capts I've flown with agree I should have stayed there
