That is all.....

Sounds like what I'm hearing. I think they're is currently a surplus on the MD88, but this is only due to the MD90's being super slow through the mod line. Also, considering that the MD88/90 is a junior airplane I can't see anyone getting booted off it.

That is all.....

And no word on any hiring.

My guess is this time next year, we will have fewer pilots on the list than we have today, which is down from the combined pre-merger numbers.

Sliding backwards....sure, some are going off the top, but the ground is eroding faster behind us.

Nu

At least they'll have fun, especially if they fly with you. :D

Yep... they are months and months behind on the 90 mods. The one without a stab finally moved off of the parking spot it had been in for a couple months.

Well they never announce hiring via an AE. But if we want to stop a backwards slide we need to change a lot of our work rules & some other things. Instant need for more pilots.

BTW, there have been MULTIPLE company publications stating the hiring for summer 2011 flying is done. Also, the training department is so backed up they can't do much on this next AE. I know they want to do more, but they can't. You don't announce hiring when you don't have the means to train the newhires. There is too much chance of plans changing. I for one am pleased that our management team is hiring in small chunks, rather then going full throttle only to end up overstaffed. Not to mention it's no surprise we have less pilots now then when the merger happened. We are lucky we didn't have pilots on furlough when the merger happened.

I know it's all doom & gloom in your world Nu, but I remember the arbitrated list had 12,434 pilots on it. We now have over 12,300 pilots. Considering the purpose of a PERP/PRIP program we are really aren't shrinking.

Yeah. That hiring rumor died down just as quickly as the Alaska rumor sprung up. Come to think of it, both happened around the same time.....

My post was a bit misleading because of what i highlighted. I was referring to job protections for us (DAL Pilots) in regards to the joint venture agreements (all 9,000+ of them).
