HA!

Most guys I fly with, both pre merger North and South say "Good Bye" to the passengers. Most get the fact that they are the ones that pay our paychecks.

Not flame baiting ... but if you want to grab your popcorn, go ahead.

Did the pilots from the north say goodbye to the passengers as they deplaned?

Johnso, I'm not talking onesies and twosies. Did the company push it? Were you taught to do it during training? I agree not everyone from the South did it/does it. And there are times when you have to get to your next flight because of running late or a tight connection time built on the rotation itself.

Show me where I inferred anything? I asked a simple question. I even said that I wasn't flamebaiting.

Oh please, quit trying to play a lawyer because you aren't. You have a history of asking loaded questions but the implications are ALWAYS the same.

One more time.........tell us again how you had a job offer from NWA but were smart enough to hold out for Delta.

I hate to break into the ongoing sidebar. When ever I complain, my wife always reminds me that I have two jobs (Delta and the Reserves)...and how lucky I am to have either. Very true.

Unfortunately family members coming in town just ran into trouble in the D terminal. Delayed due to an operational problem out of Denver, ran to the gate with 6 others, get there 5 minutes prior to departure time, gate agent shuts them down and says they are out of luck. This after the folks said they were holding their flight. Joy, now I get to try and explain how this can happen for the next four days. Checked travelnet and there were open seats and a ton of nonrevs. Customer service is a problem and needs to be addressed going forward.

Agreed. It's a cultural problem from the top down. I don't know anyone who prefers to fly Delta. Acquaintances actually tell me they only fly Delta if they absolutely have to. Most prefer Jetblue and Southwest. Not that it matters in the short run. Our loads are heavy. At least I think our loads are heavy. I haven't been to the airport in a month.

You once again FAILED to state the reason behind your question. State it's intent, & perhaps people will be more helpful.

It doesn't really matter if you state it's not flame bait when you don't give a valid reason for asking the question. The question all by itself is very close to flame bait.

You know, sometimes you log on, look around and just decide it ain't worth it.

What in the hell?

First, let me start with the biggest b.s. quotes:

Right here is a ruse. A trick. The answer to the question is don't let Newk around your wife nor let your wife know newk exists. :D

You are referring to an alpa-stache that is something similiar to one of those Spanish soap opera stars that makes you wonder if you've stumbled on to some type of gross free porn. Hot babe, old dude with a big stache. It's upsetting.

Let me see if I can find a picture...

Close enough for government work.

Really? Is this hyperbole night Hockey? I flew 5 legs tonight and I made this company look damn good on every one. (exceeded limit on the big green smile smile but picture one right here) I can't control anything else.

Now its been a while since we merged and people who travel aren't stupid and they know NWA is DAL and DAL is NWA. When you say you don't know anyone who prefers to fly Delta, how do we know its not because of an experience on fNWA? MSP? DTW? MEM? Or should I assume you mean PMDAL? Which means me, I suck? Hockey did you just say I sucked? (eek) Or should we (everyone involved in tonights trainwreck exlcuding newk) not use hyperbole anymore than to flamebait?

Look, I rarely fly but tonight 4/5 ontime or early and the late one was due to trying to accomodate passengers from both a 757 and an 88 that were busted at the outstation for tires and a bad parking break. Last week 6/6 LATE and 7 and 8 were cxld due to weather. Trip before that was hellacious weather week, I did a 4-day and flew 5 legs of a 10 leg trip with the rest cxld or turned into awful DH'ds. Trip before, 10/10 ontime. Trip before that, 6/6 ontime.

Complex 24/7, 365 operation with 12,000 pilots (a portion of which are, well, "those guys") and 800 planes and the rest that comes with that. Big picture, looks like they're fighting to make it better and I see it with the club rooms and red coats and ontime systems and so forth. It ain't going to be perfect but neither am I. Here's to hoping it works as best it can considering the size and scope of what we do.

all yall have a Merry Christmas

Wow, I'm surprised she could even see the vain Ferd? The first thing I'd notice is the inappropriate gun.

There is probably some merit to your statement, but the bottom line is that it just doesn't matter. People can, and will complain about DAL all day long. Sometimes there is a valid reason for the complaint and sometimes there is not.

But as long as people keep purchasing Delta tickets I am pretty sure that management does not care who they "prefer" to fly on. It is there behavior (buying tickets) that counts. That is why service at all the legacy carriers sucks - people continually complain about the service, but when they have a choice of which airline to fly, purchase tickets almost exclusively based on price.

Most Deloitte consultants prefer to fly Delta. They're one of Delta biggest customers.
