Yep, no reason for schools to be closed today. Little bit of overkill.

Yeah. Except for the whole "the bus can't drive through the neighborhood and on the secondary streets with 40 kids on its way to school" part. |

No Clamp will be a sleeping for his overly productive trip.
I am glad I am not in GA right now. Hopefully it will all be cleaned up by the time I get home later this weekend |
get this, i think some counties had 0 snow days and are now talking about canceling spring break... ouch. Should be in the 40s this weekend... i think...

Yeah, there was a lot of talk about not having snow days on some of my friends FB conversations. In reality they will cancel winter break or spring break. Most counties have both.
If families have vacations scheduled they will still go. Only Fayette County Schools will put test that week! It pays for your kids to go to private school :D |

I can see why the cancel school. In Cobb, if they determine 15% of the students at any school in the county can't come in for weather reasons the whole county gets the day off. It's not like a work type "come in if you can come in" situation where they lay the burden on the individual. Hey, speaking of work type situations, any truth to the rumor that our Atlanta headquartered subcontracted lift provider has been handing out trip failures to people who can't make the drive in this week?? Wouldn't surprise me in the least. |

Liability, liability, liability. Wreck one school bus and the legal settlements will cost the district what it costs to keep the school open for 6 months. I'd have driven my kids to school myself today, but there's no way I would have put them on a school bus. Heck, I'm not even 100% comfortable with them riding the bus on a CAVU day.
