Yup all 16 of them. How many 70/76 seaters are out there?
Oh yeah, UCAL will have 74 777s and 26 747's and they are pretty serious about holding the line on RJs. That's alot of brass bands to meet the planes. |

Geez, I might be old but my math says 8 777ER's plus 10 777LR's equals 18. I still agree with the gist of your post just not the math.

Good analysis except you overlook that it is a roughly 1/3 reduction in Captain seats for that staffing, and all junior Capt seats. Those are going to DCI, and we have more long term F/O's. Good news if you are senior already and eligible for those new WB A's, sucks if you wanted to be a junior NB Captain. How much longer to a first time A position now?

Carl,

I could never have imagined that anyone could have such a complete lack of respect for what we do. That was a very dark time and I'm glad it's behind us. The attitude towards us by the other employees was absolutely appalling. By far the worst thing I think I've ever seen in all of my career. I hope none of us ever see anything like that again. EVER. |

Nu CMR had 113 RJs in '08 in the next 18 months they'll be down to something like 44. No furloughs? I agree that every seat is worthwhile, but I suspect that the parking of so many aircraft would result in furloughs, whether they were flown by mainline or not. |
