It's not a question of what you believe or don't believe. The question is: What has actually been done. What has actually been done is flying transferred from higher wage paying pilot groups to lower paying pilot groups. And both of those groups are represented by the same union. ALPA.

You certainly have the right to counter it, but you do so while ignoring ALPA's recent history. You also ignore Moak, O'Malley, etc refusing to even mention the reversing of outsourcing the majors' flying to the regionals.

True enough. But as I've said, the most important part of this interview with Moak was his comments about ALPA national's highest priority with regard to collective bargaining. I won't re-post it because I'm sure you read it. Many of the ALPA stalwarts here have consistently said that we are to blame regarding Scope. The locals negotiate everything and national is only there to help facilitate with their expert staff the achieving of whatever the local's goals are. Moak's comments are a clear rebuke of that myth.

This is extremely important because it shows that we may have to fight national as hard as management. Depending upon what national thinks is for the greater good of our industry. This is the main reason I support going to an independent union. I want our union to be comprised of only Delta pilots...so we can spend our energies fighting one opponent - not two.

What you are asking is who are our peers? The answer is obvious, though people don't like to accept it. Our peers are similarly designed network carriers. Those include:

AMR, UCAL, and LCC. The rest are either niche players (ALA), have a completely different business model (LUV), or a completely different product (FDX, UPS). We can use those as a reference, but they are in a DIFFERENT industry.

I know that's management's view, but it's wrong. Delta moves pax and cargo. And we compete head to head with LUV. How you can say they are in a different industry is so blatantly foolish it's hard to believe.
