Bingo. Plus, those of is who suffered through the furlough and the BK are just damn happy to see profit sharing. It's been a long climb back and we're just getting started. *****ing about the size of the profit sharing check is counterproductive. Work on making more profits and a new and better contract would be my recommendation.
Cheers
Question,
Profit Sharing is determined by your 2010 Eligible Earnings multiplied by 6.5%, now how are they defining Eligible Earnings? (Is that before taxes or after taxes)
Not exactly moonlighting as an accountant or anything, but I'm guessing that the Eligible Earnings is before any taxes are taken out.
Then whatever your Profit Sharing comes to, you will see an typical withholding taken out (taxes, ALPA dues, SS, etc., etc.)

To estimate your GROSS profit sharing check, my best guess is to add FLT PAY and FLT ADV from your YTD total on your 12/31/10 paycheck, and then multiply that number by 6.5%. Then take out all the taxes, dues, etc. to get your net amount.
I believe the RI update said estimate using 6.5% the FICA MED line of your 12/31/10 pay stub.

That's the closest single line on the paycheck, and 6.5% is also a rounded number for the estimate. FICA MED excludes pre-tax contributions you make to the DPSP and/or HSA. PG is correct on a more accurate but 2-step gross estimate.

Extremely Well Said. You have an incredible ability to empathize. We all look forward to brighter days ahead. But as you indicated, that "don't know what you've got till it's gone" feeling is a bit hard to shake.

Anyone know why we are actively "working with" the powers that be to transfer control of the L concourse in ORD? The article implied that we are in some kind of hurry to get it done and it flat out said the result will almost definitely be "new" carriers into ORD, which we all know will be VA. Why would we be lifting a finger to do anything more than the bare minimum required by law knowing it will help yet another super junior, pennies on the dollar and practically zero benefits and work rules airline to grow even more than their quazi-legal funding scheme already provides? IOW what's in it for us?

Log onto Deltanet, CPSC, and look at the LAX welcome packet for crew lounge info. There are also numbers there to call. I don't think anyone should be pming info about our lounges (locations, codes) when we have no way to verify someone is a DAL pilot (I'm not saying you aren't, just that there is no way to be sure anyone is).

Thanks for the direction to the LAX welcome packet. I agree with the pming of this info, I was looking more for general info like do we have one and if so which terminal. At least to get me headed in the right direction.
Thanks,
