Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
If you can find "pending ACH" somewhere in your online bank account, it will show the amount to be deposited on 2/14. It's under member services if you happen to be with DCCU.
Good news Buzz! We're dropping big coin on marketing at the Staples Center and then getting people to buy tickets on DELTA!!! flown by Alaska.
Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL - News) and AEG, one of the world's largest sports and entertainment firms, today announced a new multiyear agreement to make Delta an official founding partner and official airline of STAPLES Center, an official partner of The GRAMMY Museum at L.A. LIVE and the official airline of the L.A. Kings. Delta will also gain a presence throughout the L.A. LIVE sports and entertainment district in downtown Los Angeles.

From my understanding Horizon was being rebranded as a connection carrier, losing their jets and other feed operators would step in with CRJ's. Just seems like a strange move for an airline with a niche market and a desire to stand alone. Just a hunch, but it seems like Alaska wants the RJ's off their books; whether that desire is internal or external remains to be determined.
Alaska would bring a stronger west coast presence, Hawaiian, Mexico and Canadian flying to LUV. At the same time this would pull the rug out from under AA and DAL on the west coast. After LUV targeted DAL in ATL such a move would only make sense, especially when considering the point to point flying Alaska performs.
I'm not so sure if the purchase of Air Tran wasn't simply to take another LCC off the map and better align LUV against the big 3. The next five years should be some of the most interesting in history.
I'm probably way off.

Close but not quite,
Horizon is being rebranded Alaska and will be all q400

They will lease 5 CRJs to SkyWest to fly the same routes now flown by Horizon pilots...
Horizon actually sells tickets an is broken out separately in the AR. They made 10M last year. That is huge because traditionally feed carriers value is in filling the bigger planes (or so they say).
There is talk of an additional stock buyback this year
FoxBusiness.com - Alaska Air Prefers Stock Buyback To Dividend: CFO
All these trends seem to indicate a de-leveraging of the balance sheet.
Shifting liabilities to operational expenses.
Companies typically do this type of thing in preparation for a buyout.
With our new focus on LA I doubt it will be DAL...
Cheers
George

So I was thinking, what would our pay rates look like if we made MD88 pay equal SWA pay?
So here is where our pay is in 2011:

Here is where it would be if you replaced the 88 pay with SWA 737 pay and then adjusted the other categories proportionally. The last row has the average pay increase over Delta pay rates for the entire fleet and then the last column the average percentage increase per category.

Any errors will just have to be accepted as is, til tomorrow at the earliest.

I really like this post. Thanks for doing the work.
Just need to get those pay rates along with all medical paid, 401K maxed out at 49K a year per pilot, and imrpove our duty/trip rigs.

You're going to be disappointed. Your sights are way too high. ALPA's not managing your expectations well. I'll be surprised to get a 15 percent raise and keep scope with ALPA at the helm. I'm going to vote no to anything less than 2000 rates plus inflation, but I'm just one vote.

I got paid what people have been saying is the profit sharing check and it is less than 50% of the 6.5% of my W-2 I was expecting. If this is all I am getting it is a freaking joke.
