Again, you just illustrate the problem of being associated with ALPA. I could care less if another MEC has a problem with the way we do things at DAPLA. None of their business. The process should go as follows:
1. Delta pilots tell their LEC reps what Section 1 shall look like. 2. LEC reps direct the MEC exactly as is desired by the members 3. MEC directs the negotiating committee to get point #2 done. Instead, our MEC has to work out our differences with another MEC. The fact that people don't get this is beyond belief sometimes. Carl Mainline MECs negotiated scope sales and our pilots ratified them. ALPA National has mostly watched in dismay (sometimes horror) at how WE have sold out our pilots. ALPA's ranks have DECLINED as a result of our activity. The fastest growing regionals are not ALPA airlines. ALPA loses out all the way around when we sell out our profession. Politically, the Comair pilots were used as scapegoats. They never negotiated our contracts. The DPA can chase scarecrows if it wants to waste its time. Stab 'em straw men, they were never alive to begin with and never any threat. |

They are smart enough to know that better scope means more job opportunities here and not where they are stuck and topped out. |
BTW, go check out the new ALPA I-Phone App.

In case you forgot what the subject is, I'll repeat it below: We shouldn't need a method to discuss our differences with another MEC, because what we decide as Delta pilots is none of any other airlines' business. That's the way it should work. But our association with ALPA means that's not the way it works. If you're happy about that, great. I'm not. Carl |

http://www.google.com/intl/en/jobs/u...ter/index.html ACL's been busy auctioning off Russian Nuclear Attack Subs on EBay. Fun if you are bored on an overnight: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/quiz...lie-sheen-quiz ... and good if you want to be popular with the A line on an European flight: http://www.gaiaonline.com/meowbook/ |

You don't need all those words to be unresponsive Bar. Just say: "I don't like what you've said, so I'm changing the subject."

Carl The point that many miss, is the issue was dealt with inside of the Association, and not at a bargaining table or in a court room with our company. Ergo, we can deal with disputes internally, and that is the best course of action for our profession, and this pilot group. |
Ouch!

RoadKill,
Congrats on the retirement. I retired a few years ago and choose to go with Tricare for Medical and Delta's Dental and Vision. The Dental is tons cheaper than Tricare and the Vision actually supplements the Tricare Medical. I know of a few guys doing it this way but every situation is different. |
