I think that was one of the things that was holding it up in the past few months. In the end, all that CASS pilots are in the database, the systems are already setup for quickly identifying us via a computer. It would take a long time to either set them up for a CASS like system or to include them in CASS. Let AFA fight that battle.

Kind of like putting our new hires up during indoc in ATL, and then sending them to DC-9 or A320 training in MSP and making them find and pay for their own lodging.

Same as ATL, they have to find their own lodging after indoc for training here. Not crazy about that either but I'll take that in a heartbeat over no insurance for 6 months on $31/hour for a pilot flying anything from a 737 to the 777.

If I'm not mistaken, we had a pilot die at Coex (back in the day when we our checks said Continental on them) about 4-5 months in. No insurance and so they were collecting money for his family.

Airline Pilot Central Forums? I mean, we're half naked, diapers, arguing loudly and it's our own little language.

Amen. I don't want FA's to get past without screening. I don't trust that job, there was an al-queda recruit in Great Britian who was trying to get into FA training at British Airways, glad they caught him first.

I do hope that they continue the random screening for pilots (I got sent for one at a "test" airport**, and I think it is acceptable to keep the screenings in place on occasion).

**SSI, won't divulge online (even though it will be nationwide soon)

Plus, I don't think the airlines really care if the FA's got crewpass or not, but they had to act like they cared so that the FA's would think that the company is fighting the fight for "all crewmembers", and if it failed they could lay blame on the gov't.

Not true, NOT true. That's the special tug in ATL that the Company uses to get NewK off the gate, for on-time departures. Seems NewK moves so fast between gates when switching A/C, that "...special procedures & equipment are required...". (to keep up with NewK) At least that's the rumor in the -9 community...
