At Continental you can go to their website, enter your last name, check in for any type of non-rev travel, choose your seat, print a boarding pass or send it to your mobile device, and never even talk to an agent at the airport. Would free up alot of time our agents waste on non-revs and it would be nice if we could do it without a record locator number.

Would like to see pass bennies like that for step parents given to in-laws too.......

You won't be given and thus be able to change your seat until cleared which rarely happens until at the gate. With loads historically high, I doubt you'll ever see a seat assignment until the gate nowadays.

CAL did not assign nonrev seats at the kiosk....the seats had to be released by the gate agent....

Maybe we can get Indiana Jones on the case to uncover other such treasures!

I believe that's what I said or were you just reiterating? If you were referring to the fact that they didn't assign at the kisok, that depends. On a flight with 40 seats open, often seats were in fact assigned at the kiosk.

I did like the nwa system of assigning a seat at the kiosk if the flight was wide open and the check in online saved me from having to bother an outstation gate agent to activate me before the last leg of the trip for commuting purposes, so nice to see that back

I'm just glad DL is finally putting the boarding monitors (standy-list screens) at DTW finally.
