What did Emma Watson do last night? David Letterman extracted the answer:

From Sailing Fun's post above:

"Management seems to be focused on trying to keep the stock price up and not the long term outlook for the airline. Until DAL gets its house in order from a customer service prospective which so far management has been a failure at I would not expect great things."

That is because Management gets paid with Stock Options, while we get Profit Sharing...if there is any. They never seem to run out of "One Time Expenses" year after year, to reduce profits. I can't wait until we see the "One Time Expense" for the JFK re-do!

Isnt the SLI proposal for SW the joint swapa/alpa proposal that is up for a vote or is it just the swapa side?

It is the joint proposal I believe.

Why don't you look in your contract for the definition of "PTIX" and see what one time expenses do to your profit sharing!:)

That is my understanding as well. Therefore, I have a couple of comments and then a rant.

Comment #1: Pineapple Guy, you owe the DPMA $100.

Comment #2: ALPA threw Airtran under the bus.

Rant: Airtran entered this sli with (argueably) quite or extremely strong merger/ fragmentation language, written by "the greatest aviation lawyers" known to mankind. ALPA (undoubtedly) threw their finest negotiators at the SLI problem on Air Tran's behalf (including experienced Delta pilot negotiators on FPL). The largest Airline pilot union in the world, where its president has to get an oil portrait painted, took on a union with none of ALPA's (significant) resources..."who have never set the bar for the rest of the industry", and the Air Tran pilots were presented with an absolute screwjob of an SLI...because "it was the best we could do?"

You have go to be absolutely $h1tting me ALPA...pathetic in the extreme.

Apologists, if the ends do or dont justify the means, you cannot spin this to me positively.

Waaah, their management was going to get involved.

Waaah, ALPA just lost a DNR lawsuit.

Waaah, We were outnumbered four to one.

Waaah, We thought it was best to leave it up to the (grossly outnumbered) pilots to vote on.

ALPA threw Air Tran under the bus. PERIOD! rant over.

No, I wasn't, that's why PG owes DPMA money. I was hopeful though. Final nail in the coffin for moi...not even looking back.

scambo, I ALWAYS pay my bets; but you've offered zero evidence that "ALPA threw AirTran under the bus". If their MEC Chairman, or others on the MEC felt that ALPA National screwed them (purportedly to gain favor with SWAPA), I'll gladly pay up.

As it is, you are standing on the outside, with your preconceived version of what was fair, and this integration didn't achieve it. Frankly, it didn't for me either. But you and I are both on the outside, we don't get a vote nor even input.

So, to say ALPA National through them under the bus --- nope. Absent evidence, I think it is YOU that owes the $100.

Before we jump on things here... has the AirTran MEC even approved this to go to a vote?

BTW, while DPMA would gladly take our money, the bet was to go to the Delta Pilots Charitable Fund, not DPMA.
