So what's keeping you here?

He's a Delta pilot. Why is he supposed be looking to go somewhere?

Well if something sucks so badly for you, why hang around? Find another gig.. enjoy life.. live longer.

Sorry, I meant to say 8%. DAL pays 8% out for every NWA guy. But the targeting guys 8% gets dumped into the targeting plan and then redistributed to individuals using that plan's methodology. For some that means very little, and for others it means a lot. But the average is 8% to all involved in targeting. Since you are outside targeting, you get a flat 8% every paycheck.

The old, "If you don't like it, you can leave" response.

I've always hated that proposition.

The world gets better because people don't like things, voice their displeasure, then rally around making change.

Find another gig? Live longer?

I'm glad George Washington, John Adams and the rest of the Framers didn't take similar advice. ;)

It was something that fell through the crack, and I guess it was too late to fix it when they noticed that error. So, it wasn’t like they screw us on purpose. When I heard that we’d merge, I fully expected that I’d be on the street. I didn’t expect that I was ganna get equity shares. Life turned out OK. So, we have this glitch that pays us a bit less, but we’ll definitely get that fixed in 2012. Until then, I’ll suck it up for the unity. I think the unity thing start with ALL of us saying little bit less of “me, me, me.” JMHO

I here ya, I was glad to have a seniority number because I fully expected to be furloughed. One of the reasons I chose the ER off the bat was that I said "I'll get to fly the 88 when I come off furlough anyways so do the 767 for fun..." And to date still not furloughed.

Although already mentioned, talking to the merger folks it's pretty clear this issue was brought up too late. Someone dropped the ball and to have fixed it at the end of negotiations with the contract in place would've opened other parts to be reviewed which would've caused other parts to be opened and so forth. So both sides agreed to let it go as is.

But given how this shook out for the 200 NWA pilots I think it should be changed.

As reported in the papers this morning:

ATLANTA -- A Delta Air Lines Boeing 737 taxiing to a gate clipped the tail of a neighboring 737 Thursday evening at Hartsfield Jackson International Airport.

Delta flight 552 was a Boeing 737 ariving from Tegucigalpa, Honduras, with 50 passengers and 5 crew members. It was taxiing to its gate when its wing clipped the tail of Delta flight 566, a Boeing 737, which had just arrived from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. That flight was sitting in the taxiway waiting to pull into its gate.

The final destination for both flights was Atlanta.

Delta officials said no one was hurt, and there was no smoke or flames from either airplane.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the mishap.
Ramp 6E. Sounds like passengers are fine. Hopefully minimal damage to jets and jobs.

With regard to the 401k for the Northwest new guys, there was a previous resolution which was "received" or denied so it we did try to fix it earlier but already met some resistance. I spoke with one of our reps in DTW and he said that they didn't think we would hire anyone before the merger so we were kindof lost between the cracks. Hopefully this time it will go thru
