^^^^^ This is dead on. Hopefully their willingness to cut mainline while expanding our regional flying will wake us up. I'm hoping the timing of this just as we are preparing for negotiations will remind us that if we give them a mile, they will take 5,280 feet. Let's not make this mistake again!
I talked my last Captain into thinking about the early out. He didn't even know about it. After I told him about it and the LOA he downloaded it and the entire last leg he was doing the math. I think he is on his way out. Turns 60 this year and already has his house in The Villages.
Ha, yeah there are a lot of pilots like that. I just few with two 60P FO's and both said that they are doing the math on it, but will both be punching out in the next two years either way. One was just waiting to pay off his house and then he way gone.

Lots of people do the math.. until anybody pulls the handles, it is just a bunch of talk.
I still think there will be fewer than 10.
Bar, I am not too sure, Asia seems to be rebounding, at least to the Financial Centers. The Beach Destinations are not recovering "as quickly" but we are full on many of the Trans-pacs and the O and D out of NRT to most of Asia.
I see a lot of this travel coming back, and it would be foolish to park a jet like the 744 because of the slump. The only way I see them doing that is if they ink an agreement with Jet Airways to get their 777-300's along with a few orders. The 744 is a cargo beast and makes its money there. From talking to their crews, they are full.

The agents in Saipan are visably worried about how the loads out of NRT have fallen off.
United is making big plans for the invasion of Guam after they take over AirMico.

Ive been thinking about HI lately too. I think it would be a great acquisition for delta to make with one exception.
The Hawaiians really love a home team. I think it would be in the best interest of the company and the pilots if the seniority list and operations were merged but allow the Hawaiian name to continued to be used for the intra-island stuff. Just delta/delta pilots DBA Hawaiian. Thoughts?

Two Quick Points:
1. Great job by the SOT! About time on a lot of these.
2. As far as parking trips - It is total BS - Any time a Pilot gives up a trip it should be permanently gone. Simple fix you can trade trips all you want with your "Buddies" you just can't take the same trip back.

When does the bid close for the early out? When will the takers be removed from the seniority list and gone. Hopefully a bunch will jump but I'm not holding my breath.
