Or, whats up with -88 flying out of LGA and 737 flying out of JFK. I saw the LGA -88 patterns/rotations and think I would puke if anyone mentioned DCA, LGA, or BOS to me after a month. One thing is for sure, things will be different for just about everyone two years from now. New K |

Connecting to... Memphis?
They could not make that work with connections to ATL and the World (they have tried, twice). But this will be a great way for Connection pilots to make connections with FedEx crews commuting to work. |
Let me guess, and we will do it with an RJ vs a SWA 737. That has worked so well in the past with CO and American. (yes, I know SWA doesn't go to MEM)

Hell has no fury as that thunderstorm last night in ATL. I had just landed and was in the employee parking lot waiting on a bus to see if my windshield would crack with the most prolonged hail storm I've been in. Made me wonder about everyone that had taxied out and sat out in that storm, when do you know to taxi back in for a hail inspection? I don't think any cars were damaged as these were dime sized hail stones but its not like any of us can see our wings getting pelted.
ATL tower I guess got struck and evacuated. |

You just need our planes, bases, work rules, pay raises, permission to keep your pensions, better management team and buyouts, but not our people, right?
FWIW, we don't need posts like this. If anybody wants to tell someone to quit, no matter how much you disagree with them, then sign your name. |

But what I can't stand is this: I had a CA lay into a DAL-N jumpseater in the gatehouse about how DAL-S got screwed in the merger. FWIW, everyone should leave jumpseaters alone, they've got enoguh on their mind. Then I had a DAL-N guy I was trying to make small talk about his commute from BNA-DTW and he told me it was a good commute until the merger f'd it up and he walked away. I'm still confused about that one. Guys are going to whine about this until their dead, literally, but its the junior guys that will probably be the ones displaced to other equipment and bases involuntarily but at the same time its us, these junior guys, who probably bought "time" via the merger to hold on to our jobs. I'd rather be displaced north (which isn't limited to DTW, it includes MSP, MEM is north, LGA and JFK too, and CVG if it still exists) then not have a job. |

I spoke with a good source on basing. Pilots keep confusing a aircraft flying a route with where it is based. For the moment there are no plans to open a DC-9 pilot base in Atlanta. The aircraft is not projected to be in the fleet long enough to make it cost out. There will be lots of nines flying through ATL but they will originate in the Delta N bases. This of course can change on a moments notice but that is the current plan.
