Before that idea is seriously entertained, I'd like to see something like a "golden city pair" where one city has to be your official domicile and the other has to be the city of or closest to your primary residence, just like existing cobus criteria. Said city pair could only be changed once per year or additionally only if accompanied by an official domicile change (but must always meet those requirements).
On that city pair and that pair only, you (and only you) would get unlimited S2A travel on that city pair ONLY, but would get no additional "priority days". "Locals" or anyone who for whatever reason chose to "opt out" would continue to get their standard alottment of worldwide S2's. How mainline versus DCI was handeled wouldn't change WRT today's already existing priorities so in that regard there would be no winners or losers as there is no difference if you are an S3C on a given flight you would go after an S3 or an S2A in either case just the same. |

I know it won't change, but it is just one more example of how RJs have completely changed our lives at the mainline. So, with that, I suggest we drop it.....the discussion can't go anywhere but down. Ferd |

I wasn't going to jump into what will be a flame contest back and forth. But, since I asked the original question, I'll just add that you can't use an S2 on an RJ (in my case Sky West). So, no matter what, I was below Sky West employees that were way junior to me on a ticket that said Delta Air Lines.

I just think that if the airplane says "Delta" on the side (with or without connection), that mainline employees should always have priority. The jumpseat is a separate issue, but as far as pass riding, mainline should always have priority over the outsourced. I held these views when I worked for an outsourced company as well... it's just logical.

Delta's No. 1 in global traffic, says IATA
June 7, 2011 Delta is the world's largest carrier by traffic, according to a report by the International Air Transport Association issued Tuesday. Dow Jones Newswires reported that a new industry ranking of airline traffic last year shows Delta passed American Airlines to become the largest carrier of passenger and freight traffic, including domestic and international services, according to a report by the International Air Transport Association issued Tuesday.* Statistics also show Delta was the largest domestic carrier, surpassing Southwest Airlines and American. Dubai-based Emirates remained the world's largest carrier measured by international traffic. Joint venture partner Air France-KLM would have ranked first had its two main operating units been combined, the article said. Ryanair remained the largest international carrier measured by passenger numbers. YouTube - ‪Austin Powers in Gold Member - Austin and Dr. Evil in School‬‏ Dr. Evil, "Hey everybody, I'm number one!".
