Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
That depends on the staffing level in your category, if they are over staffed, yes, it's nearly impossible to break 70 on reserve. In the before time, we could put in "Low Slips" and "High slips" which meant you either didn't want to be use unless they were out of other reserves (low slip) or you wanted to be called first (in seniority with other high slips). What happened was some guys were flying 80+ while others didn't fly at all, but got paid 70. Now, nobody gets over 70 until everyone has flown pretty nearly 70.
I think I will be trying to stay away from reserve on this AE.
Anyone flown with the new ACARS yet. I did yesterday on a roundtrip. Pay now is no longer linked to door closure or beacon on. Official out time is now tied to brake release, and on arrival, brakes being set. We doubled checked it and watched the ACARS send the "on" and "in" message as soon as the brakes were set. One engine was not even finished being shut down and door didn't open for another 4 minutes. The crew personally left the plane about 14-15 minutes later.
Pardon me if I am wrong, but aren't we still held responsible for aircraft until passengers are off, doors open and checklists complete? This is a sneaky way for management to get another .3- .5 hours of pay for free from each crew, each leg, system wide.
ALPA needs to not just "look into" this but actually do something about it.

That's why I never set the parking brake on arrival, I just hold them until they tell me the chocks are in, then release them, and of course the beacon is on until the door is opened.
On pushback, I release the parking brake a few minutes before pushback and hold them agian, and as soon as I can talk to the tug guy and ask him if we are hooked up I let go, so as soon as the door is closed and the beacon is on, we're getting paid, as it should be.

Guys,
What is the best way to get from JFK to LGA with the wife and kids? By best, I mean fastest and most convenient, but remember, being a Pilot, cost is a very, very, close second.

I commute and bid reserve. Work 6 days in April, 7 in May, 3 in June so far. That counts SC. Just wish the 70 hrs was higher

$18-20 for a car(if you tell them you are airline), give them 15-25 to get to the horseshoe from the time that you call.
IMPORTANT: tell them how many people will be riding when you call..
Yellow cab will run you about $28-30.

Just heard early out tally so far is 104 with two weeks to go. Some think 200 may go, thanks to Natco closing and MSP 330 displacement bid now happening.
