I'll take a modest 8,000 or so.

My only problem with the MD88 B position is how you glow in the dark now. My wife is getting used to it but one buddy, his wife was so concerned that she doesnt let him go out during the day (like to run errands or have lunch at a BBQ joint) and definitely no sex. I think many wives have opted for the no sex policy.

Think of it like this, there will be tons of trips to DAY, ROC, BUF and JAN but no short or long term tours in A Rack.

But bid what you want and want what you bid, and if you want your wife to establish a restricted area around your marriage bed and if you want to glow in the dark, definately bid ATL M88 B.

Sorry, anal editing syndrome kicking in.
I definitely defer to you in all these matters... and I guess it could be loose.. but I'd be willing to bet a case that it was not intended that way..

That was sort of my point when sailingfun brought this up earlier. If I can't use this to fly the airplane, then I am not interested in carrying it around.. being responsible for updating the thing.. just to save 15 lbs of paper in the cockpit..

There will be hotels and per diem during this transition to ATL. The question will be how long the transition really takes (18-24 months? longer? shorter?), but that is going to happen for all instructors that are based in the MSP training center. This is only for the transition period however and there will be no change to the policy for commuting instructors.

I would also guess that the company hasn't even asked the DGS instructors to make a firm decision as to move, commute or quit since there is not even a plan put in place yet.

So lemme get this straight... Between now and... sometime... soon... DAL is gonna move the 747 sim to ATL... get it certified... all the while maintaining a continuous level of training... then pay perdiem to the guys in MSP so that they will go to ATL and continue that level of training.. all the way thru the end of 2012....

It's not like 747 sim instructors are rare. The sim will be down while it is disassembled and moved.. reassembled, and re-certified. Wouldn't DAL be able to find suitable replacements in that time period? Don't start with the corporate knowledge thing either... I just don't buy that one.. Fire away

According to one of our ALPA reps 77 guys have opted for the early retirement as of this weekend.

Thanks all for now so back to the regularly scheduled show.
Other than learning to fly a 747, we could learn a thing or two from these guys.

Yep....

For a pilot in the 11.7k+ range:
DTW DC9B
31 senior pilots hold an AE preference

NYC M88B
62 senior pilots hold an AE preference

MEM DC9 B
18 senior pilots hold an AE preference

Waht, Wut, What???????????????????
