I also only work about 6 days a month on reserve. Category is overstaffed and remaining overstaffed with the next AE until the MD90s come online.

From what I've seen...ACARS will show out with beacon on and ALL doors closed on initial brake release. You can then reset the brake and still be "out."

ACARS will show "in" when the boarding door is opened, but the time will coincide with THE LAST setting of the parking brake before the door opens. Read between the lines!

There's also a volunteer to fly on x days down on the lower middle of the PCS page. But I think it's basically flying for free and little used.

It won't be a "Yellow slip" because it's your days off, it would be a Green Slip and it would pay you the trip's value, above the 70 reserve, assuming you didn't fly over 70 yet. So if it's a 20hr. trip, you'd get 90. For assignment, you would go below line holders with white slips, and behind regular reserves and behind reserves with yellow slips (on their days on call).

Yep, generally useless, unless it will get you up to the ALV and the rest of the month off. I've used it successfully for that purpose a few times.

Our contractual pay is from first movement of the aircraft for intent to fly until the last movement of the aircraft arriving at the gate. What would you have DALPA do? The contract survey is coming out in a few months. Make it a item you want changed. There is nothing at the moment for us to do since the company is in full compliance with the contract. Actually the parking brake change will more then likely net pilots more block time then having it tied to the beacon. In Europe if you leave the beacon on at the gate the ground crews will not approach the aircraft and they will not bring the jetway up.

If the brake is reset within 7 seconds of door opening at the top of the minute it will get you another minute on the in time

That doesn't mean much. I have ATL330 on my AE MD and VD card, but its waaaaaaay below my current position and its below SEA330 and DTW744.

I cant remember if NB captain is above or below ATL330 on my card but its for sure below SEA and DTW WB FO.
