This is exactly the way guys should be thinking. The company can save face by saying they only gave us a 15% increase. Reasonable pay rate increase with large work rule improvements...still has the overall desired effect on our W2's.

I like the way you think. Gives management cover from the "me too" group and gives us more money. Unfortunately we will have to do some serious explaining since this would be new and everyone knows, people fear change.

Thanks for posting this!

BTW, I think I got a virus on my computer. Well I know I do. I blame searching for that perfect pic :D. I have no idea but it's some redirect virus so every time I do a google search and click on the link it takes me to yellow pages or something similar. I'm on my 5th anti-virus search for the thing and no good.

If anti virus isn't finding anything try something like AdAware or Spybot Search and Destroy. Things that hijack browsers are usually malware.

We're doing flaps 5 takeoffs so just ignore us as we zoom by and rotate on the numbers on the far end of a 12,000 runway. Yehaw.

Not to be a one upper. Slow speed rejected takeoff in ATL in a MD88. After MEL procedures, were restricted to FLAPS 5. We were now overweight for 26L and 28 though we were sitting in between 26L and 26R at the time. So we taxied over to 27R. Our Vspeeds ... 163, 168, 175. And of course a HW5 required. Giddy up!

If the company flies you into a golden X day, what are the consequences?

I ask because they gave me a trip tomorrow that gets me in 5 min before my golden X. And this flight is notorious for being late.

Looks good for domestic, what about international?

For Domestic, there are no consequences. No extra pay. Nice, huh?

For International IDK.

Is that 15% the first year, or spread out? It would have to be a big jump right away.

Aye.

Except.. going to 78 hours will reduce staffing to what level?

I'm okay capping hours flown and getting rid of payment by the hour and going to a system where we get more credit per flight hour then the flight hour was worth. Say somewhere between 1.15 to 1.3 hours of credit per flight hour.

It is a good start, but not much help for a reserve guy
