SWA whining about the slot swap again? Big surprise there. Tough poop SWA. It's a DE-regulated market. Deal with it.

T,

You're absolutely correct about staffing per base, and not just on reserves. For example, ALL ER relief pilots in Asia are ATL guys. Saw some NYC guys early on but now ALL ATL. Why aren't the west coast bases manned enough to pull our own relief pilot legs?

I think tomorrow is the end of the mandatory 30 day public comment period. No surprises in those comments. Should see the final ruling soon.

Yeah - I think its basically pro-bono if he does not break the guarantee.

The resulting contract was going to be the DAL contract, and that was made clear at the outset.

The language isn't there because the fDAL NC/MEC didn't want it to be there.

Bygones are bygones, but some screw ups you shouldn't let be forgotten.

I have been busy and missed most of this. From the way I read the old NWA contract, NWA had to keep 50+% of Compass unless they had at least 10 77-110 seat aircraft. If they didn't, then the limit for 76 seat aircraft would go down to 55 instead of 90. In the JCBA, the joint negotiators adopted a limit of 255 total for 51-76 seat aircraft. If you look at the old limits of 200 from the Delta contract and then adopt the lower limit from the NWA contract you get 255. So, it seems to me that the 255 limit that was permanently adopted essentially complied with the former NWA contract's limit if Compass was spun off. I just looked at it for the first time so I am sure I missed something. What did I miss?

The loss of several thousand mainline jobs?

I would consider any press-releases at this point in time to be suspect.

You need to consider the environment, and everything that has to do with AT and SWA is potentially negotiating-in-the-press for the SLI.

Nu

It also is a good time and opportunity for the real plans to surface.

As an intersting tag along, many atl 777 rotations begin with a deadhead to dtw.

Personally as a commuter, I wish every 777 rotation started and ended with a deadhead. Can we get a carveout for that in our next contract?
