I doubt SWA has pilots flying 200-300 hours per year like we do on our domestic categories.

Reserve is senior at SWA. 90 trips pay per month.

Wow! Twice in one day that I agree with ACL!!!

Better talk to your reps though, ACL. I know at least one that is putting out the "you want SWA pay, then the company will want SWA productivity and we'll furlough a whole bunch of pilots." Maybe your reps need to start arguing correctly! :p

Not all of our ops is like SWA's. We have half flying international long haul. If you make each day worth at least 6 hours, then that would force scheduling to make more productive trips. If every work day and vacation was also worth 6 hours, then people would fill up faster towards the ALV, and that would negate furloughs, because 3 days of training equals 18 hours, or 1 week of vacation equals 42 hours for the month. It might take only two more trips (36 hours---2 three day trips) to fill up after 1 week of vacation. Bring that up when you talk the people trying to manage your expectations, and then bring up "retirements."

Your airplane pays more, they don't waste reserves. Come look at the non weekend flyers on the 88. Although I know some junior folks on ATL 767 that aren't flying much either.

Smile isn't working for some reason?

Anyways, according to the SWA folks AT is overstaffed under SWA rules. Did AT have less productive work rules than us? Or better work rules? Depends on how you look at it?

My theory remains they are parking crews on the MD88 and staffing most everything else for a capacity reduction. The 767 and ER are one part seasonal and one part a reluctance to close the domestic category in ATL.

We will see on this next bid. Another big purge to the MD88 right seat will be getting the ducks lined up in seniority order. Watch the ratio of MD88 FO's to Captains.

Is that the min? I seem to see over 100 trips per month on reserve. I like their system. I'd prefer being paid by the duty hour myself.

[QUOTE=Check Essential;1057792]I say bring on the new hires.

And new uniforms.

Although I like whoever is doing the hiring, and I'm a huge fan of the new uniform, I'm not sure why they did the new hire photo under the Virginia Avenue overpass on I-85.

All that's missing is some broken wine bottles and a couple of crackpipes.

SWAPA states that their reserves average 105 TFP per month. But their reserve guarantee is 90 TFP.
