Survey #27
I'm tweaking my 750 characters on the Scope free text box. Anything I'm missing that's more important? See below:
SCOPE is my #1 priority for this contract. I will vote NO regardless of payraises or other provisions unless we significantly tighten our SCOPE. Both top and bottom end SCOPE must be improved. Specifically: 1. Future JV's must be approved by the Delta MEC. Must maintain a minimum of a 50% balance in favor of Delta Pilots. 2. No new DCI contracts. Sunset existing agreements at the end of their terms. Bring all DCI flying in, even if at current DCI rates. We can work on payrates later - no exceptions 3. In interim, limit allowed turboprops to <50 seats 4. Hard cap of ALV period. (No Swap, WS, GS, etc) if pilots on furlough 5. Fix Republic-type allowance NOW! Before Trans-States et al become our next outsourcing problem |

You guessed wrong. Being there for the birth? A definite can't miss event of a lifetime. But going KaliFORN-I-A with the month or more off so daddy can be home is a bit too much IMO; I say after a week do your family duty by getting to work and putting food on the table. What's next, gubment mandated six week holiday's so we can go to the south of France?
Then you consider that you can take FMLA for 12 weeks every year and suddenly that means that everyone will be taking three paid months off whenever they want. "Sorry boss, I know it's a week before Halloween, but my doctor SIGNED this paperwork that says I need to care for my elderly parents. Send my paychecks to my parent's house in Tampa. I'll see you in February." "I know I haven't worked a Christmas in 17 years. It's not my fault, my parents just seem to have more trouble when it's cold... in Tampa..." But then you consider that they would have to hire 33% more pilots, and it starts to look like a good idea again. |

Mobile strip club providing pre-game entertainment for Lions fans being investigated by Detroit cops Are we sure that's even at a Lions game? Cause it looks like a Cub Scout Jamboree with the tent and tiki lights. The skulls even lend an air of Capt Jack Sparrow, an all-round great guy. |

Hockey,
I was furloughed from DAL when JC penned the "letter." At the same time ASA was hiring DAL guys - without requiring resignation. I say we should learn from our mistakes and also never forget that the Comair Pilot group tried to leverage the misfortunes of the junior DAL Pilots into political clout. I do however, make a distinction between Pilot groups and individual Pilots. Judging by his posts I think Boomer is the kind of guy we would like to have around here. Even though I was very unhappy with the Comair Pilot groups antics and have no love for the Comair Pilots as a group- I will continue to judge individuals individually. Sounds like Boomer was not even on board when all this went down. Boomer - Hang in there. Try to use your former military contacts to get your foot in the door. Scoop Comair did not have that history. Gloopy is right that the Delta MEC could have negotiated directly with Delta to force the issue on Delta's subsidiaries. One can only assume the reasons why this did not happen. Regardless of how it came to pass, we were happy to see Delta pilots at ASA. They are excellent pilots and gentlemen who never complained, although they had plenty of justification. |

two questions for the brethren:
Car guy question: I have been offered a non number matching, 2000 miles since restoration, 1970 corvette roadster 4spd. Nice looking, riding and driving car. Anyone got any idea what this car is worth in today's economy, I'm thinking $11k and I cant be hurt. Investor question: AGQ - What the eff? Is it a buy or is it going lower? |

Thanks for the tips. I started working with them about 4 months out. It's been going good. Last step from here is to wait and see how the Dec schedule turns out. Then some fine tuning can be done. It'll be a little tougher, as I think I'll be on reserve in Dec.

Where do you make this stuff up from?? Meanwhile MEC endorsed outsourcing (read that again...Delta MEC endorsed, unwaiveringly by the way, actually telling furloughed pilots the outsourced RJ's were making things better for them) saw thousands upon thousands of new DCI pilot jobs created while well over a thousand Delta pilot jobs were furloughed. Meanwhile ASA ended up taking what, a couple dozen furloughed Delta pilots out of the approximately 1500 on the street, due to a pre-existing policy they had nothing to do with, while the Delta MEC endorsed outsourcing frenzy at DCI created many thousands of new DCI pilot jobs out of thin air, guys not furloughed and about to retire were racking up their best 3 years for their FAE just in time to make a run on the bank and some guys were flying (tons of) overtime with guys on the street and we are all supposed to focus on the ignorant actions of the Comair MEC for not changing a management policy at their airline that they didn't have control over anyway even though Delta had the same policy that the Delta MEC did nothing about? |
