Have you ever done an ounce of union work? If you did, you'd know the amount of time that both volunteers and elected union officials on the LEC and MEC put in day in and day out. It's literally non-stop and the FPL that is received hardly covers the man hours that are put into running the union.
If it's so cushy, why aren't you beating down the door to get one of those jobs? |
Elvis,
I posted this on the other thread, but it is worth repeating ... in effect someone burned lunch in the Accounting floor's break room. The accountants are running around in a haze, but otherwise things will go along as normal. US Air has to move out of #4 and might make an offer to the creditors. This is a no lose offer for D. Parker. If he gets something, good for him, if he runs up the cost of American's bankruptcy claims (as he did to Delta) even better for him (and Delta and United and the American pilots). But, I expect the stakeholders to keep American's route network together. |

Are you kidding? The NC/MEC/LEC, etc will be working ALPA trip drops and keeping their cushy jobs while you and I fly the line day in and day out. How long do you think it's been since any of the MEC administration flew more than a few days a month?
Do you work an average of 21 days a month? You mean the admin guys who show up every work week, bringing YOU the benefits of Contract Administration to make sure the company isn't screwing you contractually? To staff the NC that spends countless hours negotiating LOA's that improve your QOL outside of Section 6? The R & I to help disability and retiring pilots get the assistance they need to make the best decisions for their family? The Treasurer who manages $30 million each year and has been do such a good job that the Delta MEC has been able to bank $250,000 each month so that we have near $10 mill. in our SMRA? Do you think these things happen through magic? Those guys make 82+5, which is 87. Divide that by 5:15 and you get 16.57 days...... They average 21 days of work per month (not including any weekend travel) I'd say we are getting them at a discount, YMMV. |

Shiz; If that is the case, FPL conspiracy theorists would probably agree with you...So publish the data. The lack of published data - rather than the 1 inch thick computer printout that noone can understand - feeds the conspiracy fire. |
technical question - is there any way to be notified when new trips come up on the open board? I don't have a fancy phone with apps... I check the old fashioned way on the computer. Thanks.

Man, wouldn't that be great. |

True - I could envision OneWorld coming to help out, either with money or some sort of higher revenue sharing to help them out.
