I moved up 88! I'm a newhire however but I'll take it. I still don't see hiring until 2013 but I hope I'm wrong.

Me too!

Still, I wonder why no gear? I wonder which circuit breaker mx had pulled without the pilots knowing!

Or, and this is mixing airplanes so it might not apply, but there was a Comair Embraer Brasilia that was forced to do a gear up landing and the checklist was written incorrectly or something but the gear free fell before the doors were opened and the gear was stuck up.

Not saying that happened here. Just that stuff happens.

You moved up 88 today??

So...more guys left the wildly profitable Delta on Nov. 1, than the soon to be bankrupt American??

Wow! How is Delta going to survive??

Hey, don't we need to let them come back and fly trips (only Green Slips, of course) while we train all their replacements...?

And don't we need PBS too?

Oh, wait.

Interesting... that means we lost 26 guys with numbers greater than 10200 ish. Wonder where they are going?

I know some with apps in at Fed Ex.....maybe there? One west coaster I know with one in at Hawaiian/Alaska as well.

Weren't the 2012 "block hours" supposed to be released in October by whatever dept it is that does that? Also, what about the fall AE?

nwaf16dude 11-01-2011 10:58 AM

Guy on the DALPA board said the AE will be out either this friday or the next. Closing the mem DC9 base, no new categories. Neutral bid (surpluses and awards roughly equal).

I would leave for Southwest in a heartbeat. A fourth year first officer makes about $6,000 more/month than me. I make about 7 grand gross, he makes 13 grand gross. It's pretty evident from ALPA's stance that I cannot expect an 85% raise. Don't even start about retirement. Southwest has a 9 percent match. Their match is greater than what Delta gives me (I'm part of the 150 screwed NWA guys with no pension and less retirement percentage than every single other pilot on the list). I'm starting to think that I will be pushing hard to get on at Southwest after our contract is settled. ALPA has managed my expectations way down.

Yep, southwest pay is nice, but I would be very hesitant to staple myself under the SWA/AAI mess. I'm still optimistic about the future here, but, if you're gonna go, there's no advantage to waiting.

Yeah the slot swap was supposed to create a need for more pilots but looks like it will be little more than capacity neutral reshuffling and half to 2/3 DCI. Maybe we can give some slots to AK so they can feed our international RJ's to Canada.
