Slowplay, I want to hear your vision for the future of our pilot group. I also want to know what you see as the direction of ALPA. Should we as members of ALPA be trying to make the profession better? Don't you think we should have a larger concern for the future of the young professional aviators in this industry? What legacy will we leave? Thanks for your input. It's important to hear all sides of this moving forward.
0215 get-up this morning for the flight back to the East coast. I'm so dis-appointed (truly) for you not to engage in our discussion. I want to know your opinion. Now, I realize that you're a more senior pilot and some of these issues aren't really on your radar, but join in the discussion. I'm starting to think you're the Zampolit, or KGB political action officer from the DALPA forum. You know, the guy that monitors the squadron, ocasionally throws in division, dis-credit, dissension, etc. I'm asking you to throw away the methods and ways of the old country and join us in the exchange of ideas. The past is the past my friend. Help us out over here. we are looking ahead to what we can change, not behind over the mistakes that have been made. IT's going to be an incredible sunrise today!!!:cool: TC |

TC,
Two questions: 1. What exactly should your union have done? 2. What are you doing to make up for your lack of action, as your union doesn't speak for you? just for the sake of mutual respect, will you answer your own questions for me? Thanks in advance. Hope you're having a great day! Respectfully, TC |
Tomcat,
I think that the answer to number on would be the actions that the union did take. I can understand people like Slow getting irritated with guys like "us" taking pot shots at the union when we are not involved. It is probably frustrating, but anyone who volunteers their time for DALPA, myself included is that we work for the pilots. They have the right to take these pot shots. My questions for today is. Why is going to get involved? Who is going to run for elected office? I know it is two questions, but hey its Monday! |

Respectfully, TC One point of clarification, my second question was not written correctly, and as written didn't make much sense. It had one too many "y" in it. Since your writing says to me that you think we (DALPA) should have done more, what are you doing to get us to your point of view. It should have said: 2. What are you doing to make up for our lack of action, as your union doesn't speak for you? |
Slowplay:
Riddle me this- How about those that try to get involved and are basically told "you're junior, you don't know what's best for the airline?" I've had the "privalege" of meeting Lee... I found the lisp a bit amusing as he was lecturing us on "things that we don't know about." Ironically, it quickly became apparent his lack of education on the very subject. |

It is strange to feel pity for an anonymous pseudonym, but I do. Maybe you can take on the special olympics next as another famous politician recently did, I suggest that you do so after you cure your lack of education on the subject (scope and "lisps"). :mad: |

Maybe out as, in a meeting with the MEC......

Slowplay;
I am sure that all of the attacks would end if the questions people have posed can be answered. All people want is/are answers. Answer the questions, and maybe people will begin to understand the unique perspective that you and the MEC have. It really is not rocket science. |
