I only ask because I think that will make a big difference in the outcome of said DPA vote.
The truth is that a DPA vote won't change the outcome of this Section 6 once the openers are exchanged. Since DALPA has already stated that we will not even see a summary of our opening position, we wont know approximately what it was until we all see the TA. Even if we vote NO on the TA, then immediately vote in the DPA, the best we could ever do would be our opening position...regardless of who the bargaining agent is.

If we don't vote DPA in prior to the exchange of openers in April, our futures will hinge on how strong that opener is...the opener that no member will get to see. After openers are exchanged, DPA will only be able to influence the NEXT contract.

That's fine dude. You should only vote for a new union if it makes sense in your own logical mind...not because of thread hijacks by ALPA or DPA supporters.

Default Our Competition Expands

CHICAGO, Nov. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- United Continental Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:UAL - News) today announced that its subsidiaries United Airlines and Continental Airlines will launch service on several new international routes in the first half of 2012, as the company expands its route network as a result of the merger. These new routes were included in the company's previously announced capacity guidance.

"Since our merger last year, the new United's unmatched global route network and U.S. hub structure have allowed us to offer our customers more flights to more places they want to go," said Jim Compton, executive vice president and chief revenue officer. "By adding these new international routes, we continue to put the right aircraft in the right markets to serve our customers' needs."

Continental will add new daily nonstop flights beginning in May 2012 between Washington/Dulles and Manchester, U.K., and beginning in June 2012 between Washington/Dulles and Dublin, Ireland, subject to government approval. The airline will also add weekly nonstop service between Los Angeles and Durango, Mexico, in March 2012, subject to government approval.

United will add new daily nonstop flights between New York/Newark Liberty and Buenos Aires, Argentina, in April 2012.

In addition, Continental will launch previously announced new daily service between Houston's Bush Intercontinental Airport and Lagos, Nigeria, on Nov. 16, 2011, and a second daily flight between New York/Newark Liberty to Frankfurt, Germany, on Jan. 2, 2012.

Over the past year, the company has leveraged the flexibility of its combined fleet to better match market demand. The company has added new routes from its hubs on the East and West coasts to international destinations such as Guadalajara, Mexico; Montreal, Canada; Port-au-Prince, Haiti; Providenciales, Turks and Caicos; Shanghai, China, and Stuttgart, Germany, along with new intra-Asia routes between the Tokyo hub and Hong Kong and between the Guam hub and Okinawa, Japan. The merger also enabled the company to add a number of new domestic routes by using a mix of mainline and regional aircraft from both carriers more efficiently.

Carl, please, why can't you see that you may be doing more harm than good? You do a great job on calling people out and providing factual support. Unfortunately your delivery turns some people off, including DPA supporters and fence sitters.

As a main voice on here supporting DPA you should strive to be better than Alpa. Your obviously a very intelligent man or you wouldn't be a 400 captain. I would love to sit in that seat one of these centuries. Your long airline career and experience is valuable to us younger guys. I've only been in the airlines for 12 years and flying 20 years....32 years left at Delta.

Alpa has decades of screw ups. We could write hundreds of posts rehashing these. DPA is new and has the opportunity to be a fresh, mistake-free virgin union. I know you don't believe me but I really did see just one individual destroy a drive.

I just wrote a short note and emailed it to DPA. I just outted myself!! In the letter I encouraged DPA to remind all its members to be polite and use effective communication. The drive will do better if we respect the organizers and supporters.

Frank,

You are in the right place. This thread automatically adjusts to changing conditions. Right now things are pretty slow in the rumor department. DALPA is in the information collection stage prior to section 6 and pretty mum. No recent AE's etc. So for the time being we are stuck in a DPA vs. DALPA rut.

As soon as things start to pick-up this thread will once again get interesting, but by all means if you have a scheduling question lets here it.

This sounds so familiar after our merger. I remember being excited about some of the possibilities. Is it just me (and the fact I have no hope of getting off reserve without a commute to the east somewhere) or did the big picture just get photoshopped and Delta tails now have Eskimos, French Flags and "operated by" painted all over them.

Maybe I am just suffering from being impatient!

You can add me to the list of people sick of seeing it too. The last several pages of this thing are 90% DPA/ALPA ramblings. Most of us like this thread for other reasons. I, too, would like to see it go back to other things, like when is this next AE going to come out, and what rumors have people heard as far as hiring, etc. If and when I want to read more opinions about DPA/ALPA, I will read that thread.

Hopefully this will help change the mood around here....
Remember, we still have new-hire flight attendants floating around that hopefully look a bit like this.
