I thought y'all were BFF? Do I need to get luvjockey? :D

A lot of guys on this thread are saying something similar, at least from his advice I agree it is wiser to go to an airline that wants to be an airline. That is a worthwhile shot at Delta ticket brokerage Inc we are developing.

Fwiw I did the "I quit" gig and look where am I now. Said that, been there, done that, got the hell out of that. Concessionary Delta is still a multitude times better than my Coex job and thousands of times safer than my corporate cp job.

I wouldn't leave again. I'll "occupy" Delta. But i couldnt blame anyone for bailing. If it was me id go right to FedEx. If i really wanted passengers I think ACL was right Hawaiian would be a good gig. I think Virgin won't fail due to the ego involved. I think Alaska would be good. Probably none is good long term. I don't know what is good long term but im still under the belief this current Delta paint scheme will be our last before we adopt an all gray scheme.

I remember meeting several ASA pilots who were going thru 737NG initial training. No BS.

There were a few LCA's a few years back doing that. They also send the WIA and OBAP scholarship winners though that course as a proving run. We have successfully hired some awesome pilots that way.

Because my "retirement" is not in my name. It is nothing more than a promise that can be broken in a future bankruptcy. What you guys got with your claim sale and DC plan is money that is actually in your name. And since some of us have this promise, we've not had anything put in our DC accounts so we could raise the DC accounts of our junior guys. So ALL I have for retirement is this "promise" and my own personal savings.

If I left now for SWA, I would never be a captain. Thus I would be making about 35,000 a year less as a SWA copilot than I make now. That wouldn't make sense financially for me.

For all the reasons above. But again, even at this late stage in my career, it is very tempting to be with an airline that actually would want ME as their first choice to care for the brand. But if I ultimately lose my fNWA pension, that extra 35,000 per year at Delta might come in handy. If I was young enough to be a captain at SWA someday, I'd be gone.

It's not BS man, that's exactly how I feel about my future at the Delta Ticket Brokerage Company. SWA and FDX actually want to run an operation with a proud brand, and only have their pilots take care of that brand. If I were younger, that factor alone would be my number 1 thought.

How can you include FDX in that statement. There are a lot of caravans flying in the FDX color scheme along with delivery trucks that are in the FDX paint that are outsourced labor.

I think GK would have loved to copy the legacy outsourcing. SC got elected(IMO) as SWAPA President because we wanted to stop that (Thanks ALPA, for showing us what path not to take). To his credit, GK listened.
