Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
What they often do is give you notice of a trip say, tomorrow night, and at the same time give you the 24 hrs off before that trip. That gives you your 24 hrs of time off.
I might be wrong, but under the Delta FA rules, no one has pure reserve. As I understand, the "A" days (availability or reserve days to us) extend a lot further up the seniority list, but even the most junior FA isn't solely on reserve. The most junior FA has scheduled trips, can trip trade and do everything else a senior one can.
Great. Now we'll expend our negotiating capital to benefit the FAs.
The company will have to cost out any benefits we negotiate and extend them to the FAs to keep them happy--and keep their union at bay. Our dues money hard at work.
Speaking of watering down our negotiating capital...DALPA is already on record advocating for CrewPass for the FAs. why, why, WHY?
Who knows--maybe DALPA will negotiate health insurance for the FAs' cats too, while they're at it.

However, I think we are better off in the long run if the flight attendants do not have a union.
I'm in the same boat and received a call yesterday putting me on 24 hours of rest beginning at 1330 yesterday through today (doesn't have to be a calendar day). On iCrew there's a "R" on my line.

I agree, especially since the primary negotiative tool of the FA's was the "Mee Too!" clause that was a thorn in our sides during so many section 6 negotiations. Now what we gain through negotiation is not formally linked to other employee groups. (For historical correctness the FA "Me Too!" had a lot of limitations) ie: pay pension, hours of service etc....but it applied to WAY too many things...AT NWA the pilots negotiating power was diluted quite often by 12,000 FA's...At least now management can think about it or not.

Apparently DALPA thinks they've got everything for the pilots under control, and can start tackling the FAs' wants.
